hey bill,nice seeing you in r.i. im sorry i didnt stay long enough to sit down and catch up with you. as i told you in the hotel room both joe ely (especially) and kinky friedman had fond memories of you. (joe played here in boston a few years back and after the gig i took him and his mgr/buddy charles back to my fave bar (at the time) BUNRATTY'S to play pool, drink beers and swap stories. i introduced him to a cute red-headed bartender jennette who he quickly became very friendly with and are still friends today (i believe). the show was great (i hope you had as much fun as me and my kid harrison did) and i hope its not another 10 years before i see you again. i speak to barry pretty often and he keeps me informed of your life. take care of yourself and happy birthday. last i heard, your buddy waddy wanted to punch me in the nose for telling everyone we're cousins (which i NEVER did) so if you ever talk to him tell him what kind of guy i am (and that i could probably drink and smoke him under the table-this may not be alogether true but i know for sure i could drink a beer FASTER than him. he may have heard "i'm the third wachtel" and that our looks and behavior are so simular that "we must be cousins"=all quotes from cowsills and gotten pissed off at that. oh well. be happy and healthy! your friend a.j.

Ok, so, this birthday wish is coming to you, just a tad bit late, but hey, the warm wishes are just as good and strong as if they'd been delivered on time. (grin) Thanks so much for making the effort to come to RI, back in Sept., and fulfill dreams for quite a bunch of us "Ol' Saps"! I STILL chuckle over that one! Like I told you, then, Hair hasn't sounded that full, complete, and well, right, in 30 years. Your siblings have done the best that they could, with nice results, in times past, but it was just soooo much better, hearing you guys, singing your original parts, and harmonies. And I still get goose-bumps over the memory of you guys starting out your concert with "TRTPAOT"! I listen to it on the CD's now, and it just takes me back to seeing you guys up there on stage, in your various stances. (Yours with John Lennon "channelling thru you".) It was all just SOOOO Awesome! I still love it, when you signed my little Mod Moo Shu Cow, on its back, your telling me that it was because "I'm Back!" Sigh, Now what are you guys gonna cook up next? I'm ready! But, in the mean time, I hope your Birthday saw you well, happy, surrounded by friends, and loved ones, and that it will continue throughout the rest of the year! Take care, Billy! Happy Birthday Bill! Haven't seen you since 1968 when I was 'In Need of a Friend'. Thanks for all of the memories of that 'first' adventure on the Steel Pier in Atlantic City. A summer I shall never forget. Hope you are well and happy. Would have loved being in RI in Sept.but an emergency surgery kept me away. Not being able to see all of you together again was even worse! Hey Happy Birthday Bill, from another Bill. I'm happy to say that I had the pleasure of being at the Taste of Rhode Island this past year and my family and myself really had a great time. Been a fan of you folks since the old days and had the pleasure also of meeting your brother Richard when he first came back to Rhode Island in 1996 and wanted to share his experience that first night. What a time! I told Richard, you guys didn't miss a beat! Hopefully my 3 boys who play guitar's and enjoy todays music will understand how my music sound is like!
