Hey Now, Bob!! Long time man.....still at the Pickwick's Pub??(that's how long it's been) I'm still playin' & singin' too.Well, anyways, just wonderin[' what you've been up to. Cool site. Have a happy new year's & hope the best to ya'all. Peace, TR
Rejoining the Cowsills & the past is something I have waited a long time for...I am thrilled to have them in my life once again...and to know that they are recording again...May the Universe continue to bless their musical paths with an abundance of success!!! Thanks Cowsills!!!
i have loved the cowsills for many years.you were the first name group i had ever seen;25 may 1968 at the catholic youth center in scranton pa.i ended up being a full time guitarist having spent the 1980's playing in chubby checker's band and then in the 1990's toured in noel redding's band[ex -jimi hendrix].if ever the cowsills should be in need of a guitar player for a tour or any sort of project for that matter,i'd be delighted to send off some video and audio material for review-excerpts from friday,s live, american bandstand, solid gold, etc.i greatly appreciate your time and consideration and wish you the best of luck with your new album. every good wish--------robbie walsh
I just discovered this web page. Doesn't it seem like it was only yesterday that these guys were just kids singing their hearts out in the 60s?
My band The Little Giants (sure you don't remember) Did a couple of WMCA Good Guy Shows in N.Y. with you in the late sixties. Your cover of Good Vibrations was great. I still remember it well! I have special memories of "The Rain The Park" Thanks! Sorry to hear about yoru mom! John Sebastian
great band....
The Cowsills are one of my favorite bands and your site has educated me with more info on the Cowsills that I did not know. Thanks So Much
I remember having tickets to see The Young Rascals at Kings College in Wilkes Barre, sometime in the fall of 1967. They cancelled and the COWSILLS appeared in their place. It was one of THE most memorable concerts I have ever seen. You guys were great. I miss your Mom! God bless all of you! My daughter and I both enjoy my old albums, now it is time to start collecting your CD's. How about a reunion concert in Harrisburg or Hershey PA?
This is a great site.
Hi! I saw you all in Birmingham, Alabama, in the early 70's. Remember the Shower of Stars shows? I was just a kid, too, and wanted to be a Cowsill SO bad! I'm so glad to see that you all are still around. Cool! Love ya! Audrey
I love your website! It brings back alot of great memories!
The Cowsills regularly appear on the playlist of my radio show "Hot Wax Saturday Night". Wouldn't have it any other way. LOng may the Cowsill's run.
This is a really groovy site. I have truly enjoyed reviewing some of my BC (before children) years. I still play the old records and love the new. Even sadness wears a smile in your music. Thank you all for being so generous with your time and lives and talents. Peace ... CaveHippie
I certainly enjoyed the web page. I am new to the web. got to see Susie in the continental drifters at either springfest in Pensacola or Bayfest here in Mobile. Haven't heard from you all since the 60's. Please let me know when you will be in the Gulf coast.
I am another Cowsills fan from way back. I was 15 when I first heard the Cowsills' "Indian Lake". I bought the 45s and LPs, teen magazines (from which I cut the pictures and stuck in my scrapbook. I became a member of the Cowsills Fan Club. I still have the booklet I received. I, like many other fans whose comments I have read here, had often wondered what had happened to them all. I only saw the occasional TV special with them in. I used to dream that they would one day come to Australia. Oh well! I recently saw a short clip of them on ET (obviously several months old by the time it got here). It certainly brought back memories. I wish all the Cowsills all the very best of luck for the future.
Loved visiting the web page - I saw the Cowsills in concert in York, PA at the York Fairgrounds. At the end of the concert, we saw their rented station wagon leaving the fairgrounds and were able to talk to them. As a young kid at the time, it was a great thrill
happy thanksgivin to a wonderful fam.
In the early 90's a local radio station was playing your recording of INDIAN LAKE when I lived in Cranston, RI. It was a radio ad for the new INDIAN LAKE CONDOS. IN SOUTH KINGSTOWN, RI!! Hope you knew and hope you got your royalties from this blatant commercial use of your song.
You have a great site!
WOW!!! I can't beleive this web site exists. I used to be madly in love with John when I was 11 or 12 years old (that was many years ago) It's good to know they are still performing.
Hi Everyone! It was so great seeing you all at the Pub!!! And although these interminglings are far and few between, I can honestly say I am QUITE satiated from the evening's events. Special thanks to Bob for sharing his stage. Love, Nephew T.
Wow .....Can't believe There is A Cowsill Website..Suddenly I am 13 again.....
I enjoyed your web site....it's terrific. It made me feel as though I were a teenager again! I think the Cowsills owned a campground in R.I. in the early 70's. I remember their father had a broken leg at the time when we visited it. My best to the group from your fans back home in R.I.
I have loved the cowsills music from the first time I heard it, until today. I have carried "We can fly" in my head all my life. I regret that I have not been to a concert, but I have worn your old 8 tracks out.(Remember them?). Best of luck with your current life, and thanks for the memories.
This is a message for Debi V. I'm looking for you, email me soon. Hello Cowsills and Hello cowsill fans. Hope all of you are doing great!
Hey, y'all. I'm new here. Love the site; keep up the good work. A question...as a Cowsills fan, I am also a Tony Romeo fan. Does anyone know 1) If a Tony Romeo musical revue has ever been produced, and 2) Who would a guy contact in order to gain the rights allowing him to produce such a show? Any info would be much appreciated. Drew Jansen Minneapolis, MN
WOW! What a find! The Cowsills were such a big part of my preteen years. John was my 'first love'! The Cowsills were my first concert performing at Saratoga Performing Art Center in NY. And I got in MAJOR trouble when the Cowsill wallpaper in my room came down along with strips of paint and wallboard! So glad you are here! Any chance of future performances in Washington State????
Sorry Paul... OPPPPS... thought I was in the Birthday Book... sorry.. now.. let's see if I can find it! LOL..
Hello Paul...Sending you much Love from Canada! & Wishing you the best of everything for your Birthday, filled with love, happiness and success in all aspect of your life, eh? :-) I hope your special day was just as happy as when this ol'woman was, in finally meeting you, seeing you perform and best of all, sing! at CMIII. Thanks for going out of your way to be there! It was much appreciated!
Happy Birthday to Paul!! The FIRST concert I ever attended, was the Cowsills' appearance in my home town of Jamestown, ND, in October of 1969; I helped run the lights in my high school auditorium. Since I later went on to get a degree in theatre arts, as well as being a road manager and lighting designer for numerous bands, including Kiss, Foreigner, Alice Cooper, The Beach Boys and Little River Band, among others, I guess it got me off to a good start. /\/\ \/\/ MickProPer@aol.com P.S. The Cowsills ALWAYS did better harmonies on Beach Boy songs than the Boys themselves . . .
I'm an old friend of the family and would love to hear from Bill.
I have some great memories of Indian Lake and my childhood. I used to walk through the woods in Natchez, Ms. and sing ,hum, and bask in the sweetness of the tune. I'll always carry this song in my heart as a precious memory. I'm a Bluez musician but this is one of the few pop songs that move me still even after all these years.
WOW! IT WAS REALLY GREAT READING ABOUT THE COWSILLS. I SAW AN ARTICLE IN OUR LOCAL PAPER ABOUT THEM AND HADN'T THOUGHT THEY WERE STILL PERFORMING. THE SITE IS REALLY INFORMATIVE. I'M GOING TO SHARE THIS WITH MY SISTER WHO WAS ALSO A FAN.
Finding your web was like finding an old friend. Glad to see that your still around.
I can't believe it. I absolutely LOVE the fact that I can find out what's been happening with my favority group from the past. I was totally in love with JOHN and had him plastered all over my room. I'll definately be back to check in and read all there is to know!
i wondered what happen to ya
Thanks for all the memories!!!!!!
I remember a good friend of mine saying she shared a school locker at winman jr high school with sue cowsill my friend's name was sue cox it was probablly in the early 70's
I am so happy to have found your website. I love your music. It makes me feel happy when I listen to it. I've been a fan for years. Thanks for all the great music over the years.
I heard one of your songs on the radio today and on a whim decided to search the name Cowsills on the internet tonight. What a surprise to find such a great web site! My friends and I were very devoted Cowsill fans in the late 60's and early 70's and have always wondered what happened to you. I still have all your albums - but no turntable to play them on - they're packed away and keep getting moved every time I've moved. Thanks for all the music and great memories.
Nicely Done
Saw an article in the Sunday paper about your new cd. Was back in Junior high again! Concerts in New England were a highight of my weekends! Thanks for all the fun and friends I made!!
Hi! I was a big Cowsills fan back in the 60's -- Barry was always my favorite -- and I would like to hear from other Barry fans and what is he up to these days?! I know about his cd but I am wondering why he is not with the group anymore, and if he ever performs live? Nice to see a Cowsills site on the net! :-)
I grew up in Rhode Island in the 60's and really enjoyed the Cowsills, they were great. I would go to Newport and sometimes Lincoln Park to hear them. I also attend RI JR. College and the oldest Cowsill also attended at least for one year. I think it was Bill.
glad i could visit loved it
thank you for all the great memories.
Hey Bary remember me I played drums with you and AJ (Blind lemon) at a chinese restaurant in Mass. Paul Scali.
Hello! I was just looking around the net and found your site -- I have a webring for teen idols of the 60s-80s that is about 50 sites-strong but we don't have anyone representing the Cowsills. I would be honored if you would consider joining! The main page of the ring is at http://members.tripod.com/~ryancassidy/webring.htmlI also have a webring for famous families and would love to have you aboard there, too! It has a really diverse mixture of families but no Cowsills sites yet! That main page is at http://members.tripod.com/~famfams
The Cowsills was the first concert I ever attended when I was 12 years old. My girlfriend Colleen and I were Cowsill freaks and her parents took us to see them in Asbury Park, New Jersey. What a thrill. I've always wondered what happened to them. Thanks for the Website and for rekindling the memories.
Dropped in out of the yahoo. Went to PCS with Paul oh so long ago. In my darkest dreams I'm stranded eternally in Mr. Gordon's geometry class. Can't believe that tall Paul dark and handsome got so grey and wrinkled. Marriage and children will do that.Hail and farewell
I wish the entire Cowsill Family the best of luck in their future music endeavors. They will always be very special to me. Thank you for the music and sharing your childhood with all the fans.
This is the 3rd message I have sent to this site,I have received no response so far, but I am an old friend of John Cowsill, and would like to hear from him, but have no clue how to get in touch with him, if anyone reads this please email me back with info... here is the previous message that I emailed: Hello, my name is P.J. Lewis, and I am from Newport, RI. My brother George Lewis used to play in a band with John shortly after the breakup of the Cowsills. The band was called "Grease The Cat". I was about 13 years old at the time, and remember John's humor and wit, and also how he inspired me to play guitar. I also remember his great drumming ability, and remember him wailing at The Canteen at Fort Adams and hitting the symbols behind his back. I would like to get in touch with John to let him know I am still alive, well, and playing guitar professionally. Please email me back, I would GREATLY appreciate it. I sent a message to this site over a year ago, and did not get a response back, and have still not been able to contact John. I might have been overlooked. Please give him this message. Thanks, PJ
The cowsills rule! i wish i could have "hair" on a cd. Could you (the webmaster) also have the soundclips in mp3's? thanx ~Bruce
it's so great to know there are other people who love and remember the Cowsills so fondly. I still have an album they all autographed when i got to go in their dressing room at the Circle Star Theater in Redwood City, CA - around '68 or '69. They were a big part of my childhood and I'm happy to hear they're out and about. Any plans to come to the bay area?
See the NFL commercial featuring The Cowsills? Check it out! NFL: Hair Commercial Cool Site!
I was in the USAF with a man named Ken Wendt, I believe his family was connected to you in some way. Do you know where I can email Ken? He should be in early 50's. Tks.
Wow, this is a cool site. It was very interesting reading for somebody who knows Bob from a working relationship. I hope your comeback goes well. I ordered a copy of Global. I'll give Bob my review personally.
Hey guys hello from spaghetti headquarters!! Vinnie is a regional celebrity these days lets put together a grass root marketing plan.. I run a digital recording service legally of course!! need a copy of Global so I can push it in the strip clubs and make a hit the hard way.... I pushed music for Buckcherry last month and showed AOR ass kiss DJs who's the bomb.. reply soon or I will deny any relation to the band who sang We can Fly for the record company scum lords...
HI THIS IS YOUR OLD FRIEND STEVE PRATT PLEASE WRITE TO ME.......................
A long time Cowsill fan, I very much enjoyed your website. It's nice visit a website that obviously shares the same love for the Cowsills as I.
In 1968 I as well as several other friends at that time were 11-12 years old . I'm now 42 . My mother brought us to a concert in Corpus at the Memotial Coliseum . I had my picture made with John and it was the highlight of my puberty. I was in love. Obviously I thought of this now. And it still holds strong feelings to me. Did John marry? Have Children? What is he doing today?
Hi, I saw you on tv the other evening...I had often wondered what happened to the Cowsills..I was very much a Cowsill fan in my early teens...especially you, John..I still have a letter that you signed when I was in the fan club..its in a box up in my attic..I'm looking forward to hearing your new music. I now have 3 kids...20, 16 and 14 that are very talented musicians...so much fun going to the gigs and competitions...playing guitar, drums, keyboard/piano, flute, trumpet, trombone and tuba and banjo..and they have been told about the Cowsills too....the best to all of you...and thanks for the music
i like it
Always have enjoyed the sounds of the Cowsills.
I forgot all about you guy's until i saw you on VH-1 a couple of minutes ago. Good Luck ! Welcome Back ! Looking forward to buying your "GLOBAL" CD.
I'm so glad to have found this. I can't believe that there are others out there who feel as strongly about the Cowsills as I do. I never found it doing searches with search engines. I don't know why. So glad I decided to search One-list. I still love the Cowsills!
This message is for John Cowsill. The guys at Songwriters Recording Studio say a big "Hello" from Santa Barbara, Calif. Hope all is well with you. "Keep The Faith"
Just a brief note to say that I continue to regularly play cuts from the new "Global" album for friends. I warn them that they'll NEVER guess who this is! They never do, but they're always hugely impressed!
Hi, to all. We went to school together! I attended Professional Children's School in NYC from 1966-1974. John was in my class, Barry, two years ahead. Nicole Clark and I have been wanting to say hi..to John...Hope he gets this. Sincerely, Cheri...the Original "Coppertone Baby".
I WAS WATCHING A VH-1 SPECIAL "WHERE ARE THEY NOW?" I CAN'T TELL YOU HOW THRILLED I WAS TO SEE A SEGMENT ON YOUR GROUP. BACK IN 1968 THRU 1971 I WAS A BIG COWSILL FAN, ESPECIALL JOHN COWSILL. I HAD HIS PIN-UPS UP ON MY BEDROOM WALL. PIN-UPS I WOULD GET THRU TIGER BEAT. I AM NOW 43 YEARS OLD AND BOY I STILL LOVE YOUR GROUP, IT JUST BROUGHT BACK OLD NOSTALGIA MEMORIES.....KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!
WHEN I WAS A YOUNG GIRL, I WENT TO DALLAS' LOVE FIELD AIRPORT JUST TO GET A GLIMPSE OF BARRY AND JOHN. I WAS SURE THAT THE MINUTE ONE OF THEM SAW ME WE WOULD BE TOGETHER FOREVER. ISN'T IT WONDERFUL TO BE SO INNOCENT? YOU MADE ME VERY HAPPY IN MY YOUTH. GOOD TO SEE A WEB-SITE. I SEE THAT SOME OF YOU GOT SMART AND MOVED TO THE SOUTH. GOOD TO KNOW YOUR CLOSE.
I grew up, went to De La Salle Acad., and played drums(or was that boxes!) in my basement and yours with Bill prior to going on the "Salty Brian Spotlight on Talent Show" in Providence. Don't know if you remember, but played drums at a few local dances prior to you guys becoming a family "act" I'm sure Bill would remember. Saw your piece on VHS1! Best of luck! If you hear from Bill, have him drop me a note! Great to see your still going! Again, Best of Luck An old blast from the past! Bob Nunes
loved your music as a teen. Forties now, and brings back many memories. carry on!!
Hi-BMI writer here--I have a hit that will place The Cowsills back on the charts--please click the link and scroll down to What You Do-c.1999 and click for song--load time is 40 sec.--what have you got to lose--if interested please email me for the demo and lyrics--thanks--and Rain,Park, and Other Things was my favorte song of 67--
The site is great. It's obvious a lot of care and effort was put into making it attractive. I can't think of anything I would suggest doing different. As for Global, Wow! It is a crime that these songs are not all over the radio. If not for my next door neighbor reading a review in Goldmine (I think that's the name) I wouldn't know about it. I must be honest and admit that, growing up, I was not a Cowsills fan (if it wasn't rock, I didn't listen) but I'm going to look for some of the early recordings. There was obviously more to the Cowsills than I thought at the time. I intend to turn many friends on to Global. Best wishes to everyone.
I love your site! I always had a crush on susan!!
Well-done site. Just heard the "Global" album, love it to death.
John, The last time I saw you we heard you sing at the Taste of Newport then we crashed a wedding at Christies Restaurant and proceeded to dance and mingle with the guests. Do you remember?
Love visiting your website. Can't think of any improvements needed, although I did suggest a type of family tree that would really show the additions to your family, i.e. marriages, births, divorces, etc. A lot of us out here don't know if Bill is still with Karen(?) Bob with Nancy (I figured that one out) I read John is going through a divorce (any kids??) That kind of stuff...hope you consider the idea. Thanks!
I'd never heard of the cowsills until recently, but they are so great that i went out and searched to find the greatest hits, going all the way to NY for it. I espeically like the Rain, the park and other things. Its good to know they are still going to make music.
Thank you John Cowsill for supporting our group (IT'S MY PARTY!) at the International Pop Overthrow performance at The Gig in Hollywood. You're a great drummer and singer as evidenced by your set with Elliot Kendall and your sincere and unjaded enthusiasm for the girls' performance that Sunday afternoon was inspirational. Isn't it funny how those with the most to show for in the business tend to be unpretentious. Your interest in the group is something those girls will not soon forget. I purchased two Cowsills CDs on the Razor & Tie label for their education and listening enjoyment. We'll send you copies of the photos of you and the group together once they are processed.
Love your album!!! I'm going to the pub in a couple weeks, with Tiffany, and you better sing American Pie!!!!!!!!!
Mary and Bob this is my Email. Write back, love Anne
I ordered "Global" on August 2 and am listening to it on Aug 5. Great work...both with the music and the business! Regards, Thomas Edwards
Saw you on TV some time back and it refresh fond memories of Middletown High School where I was a class mate of Bob. I went to MHS '62- '66 before my dad got orders and we moved back to Florida. Bob and I had Algebra with Mr. Russo. About the time I moved back to Florida, you had just released "Most of All." I would sure like to obtain a copy of that song as it always reminds me of MHS.
you were one of my first concerts.glad your back . i think i might have one of your old albums in storage ,have to ck and see.good luck mike
What a blast from the past!! Your site was more than I expected. I am an old fan from the 60s and 70s-I actually had a "Cowsill Room" (a very big closet) with milk ad posters, etc. Thanks for the memories.....
I posted my comments on the Ask the Cowsills board, so I'll just say again Global is great!!
Hey everyone! God, I was such a fan of you guys way back when! I even have copies of many of the photos in your early days page, and a lot of others. I can't believe I didn't find this site sooner! I'm still wending my way through. Peace, Val
hi everyone; i'd signed this before but have a new email address. would still love to hear from barry fans. the website is very impressive.
In 1968 I was six years old and my family and I went to visit friends living in Newport, RI. Their two daughters new the Cowsills pretty well and took me for a walk up to the Cowsills large home up on the hill. I remember the driveway being pretty steep and we received lots of scratches riding skateboards down that driveway! I never met the Cowsills, they were always away on tour, but being a very little girl walking around their beautiful grounds and huge house was an awesome sight to see. Some things remain a bit fuzzy to me after all these years, but I enjoyed listening to my older friends talking about their dates with the Cowsill boys and their summer games of badminton on the grounds. Thanks for the memories, Cowsills!
So I'm on my junior high swimming team (1967 or 68) which is called the "Indians". Someone sets up a record player and at the start of each swim meet the play this song called "Indian Lake" (get it?). Anyway I fall in love with this song. I must have it. I find "The Best of The Cowsills" at JC Penny. I groove to my newest LP. I become a major Cowsills fan. Fast forward to 1999 I key in "cowsills" at amazon.com. I click here and there. Three days later the CD "The Best of The Cowsills" is in my mailbox and in my van. I am groovin' all over again, but something's different.....my two young boys have a favorite "new" song called "Indian Lake'. Life IS good! My graditude and best wishes to you all!!
Boy, I can see by your guestbook that you made quite an impression on an awful lot of people. Those of us that graduated high school with Bob and Dick(Rich now?) at MHS in '67 were just reminiscing about you at our 5oth birthday party!! Time certainly has flown by but the memories are still great. Hope you can come to the next reunion and show us your new stuff.
Thank you for creating such a wonderful website. I enjoyed reading the information about my ol' time favorite singing group! It brought back many memories! On my 16th birthday, I had the opportunity of meeting the Cowsill family in Atlantic City, NJ. Thanks to Sol of MGM Records!!! I saw the show from back stage. After the show, the entire family sang 'Happy Birthday' to me. It was 28 years ago and I still remember the experience as if it were yesterday. Through the years, I often wondered how the family members were doing and what they look. Thanks to the information and updated pictures on the website, I don't have to wonder anymore. THANK YOU AGAIN! I'd love to hear from one or more of the family members! Sincerly, Sue (Wall) Austin PS - I still have the 8X10 autographed photo signed my each family member, along with Barry's guitar pick, all their albums from the 60s and 70s, Cowsill music books, etc., from my teenage years.
Keep up the good work! I'm glad to see that you have a new album out.
Hi Bob! It was great viewing your website-very entertaining!!I wish you the best of luck on your new endeavors!! See you at VPH!
...I'm SO glad to reconnect with the Cowsills, and fans!
This is the best website around. I love it and must check this site at least once a day. Thanks to whoever created this site. IT IS WONDERFUL!
Wow, for so long I've suffered the harrassment of my friends for admitting to being a Cowsill fan. It's great to find others out there who genuinely knew a good thing when they heard it. I still love the harmonies on the old songs. The Cowsills were and still are very genuinely talented. I often look at the Super 8 films my dad shot of his "ugly duckling" going after autographs after concerts at Steel Pier in Atlantic City. It brings a smile to my face and helps me remember the passion I had for good music at such a young age. I feel like this website has helped me catch up with that part of me. I missed my old "friends". I sure hope I can see another live concert sometime soon. Please tell me you'll be playing in Boston sometime soon.
This is a really well organized web site. It's great to hear you all singing together again.I heard you on Mark & Brian sing Hair and it brought back a lot of memories.Your new material sounds pretty censored good too!I wish I could have made it to the game the following night to hear you. I'm visiting an old school friend tonight and will show her this web site. Keep singing.Ron
Been a fan since I was a little girl, still listen to the old songs, brings back good memories. I have only been able to get Cowsills-Concert and The Cowsills, from razor and tie- where can I get the other old albums. Have they been remade on CD's and cassettes, would love to know so I can order them too.
Wow - didn't realize anyone else even knew who the Cowsills were! This is so great. Loved their music growing up and am looking forward to finding out more about what's going on with them. Barry was always my favorite. Would love to hear from other fans!
you guys are great. can't wait to see all of you again. the cd is absolutely fantastic as everything you do is. you have to come to iowa to do a concert before we go crazy from not seeing you in a while.love you all so much. take care!!!!
Suesan, I'm Jeffrey Tick's brother and spoke with you on Mark and Brian. I tried to meet with you at Lake Elsinore baseball game but it was too crowded. I live in Southern Calf. with my wife and 4 kids and would love to see you. My work phone number is 562 981 1600. Steven Tick
I loved seeing you on VH1. I have been a fan for many years and had given up hope of ever finding one of your older records. I am planning on ordering one of the older ones and Global. Thanks again for all the wonderful music!
Hi! I saw a program about the Cowsills on VH1, last night and wanted to write. I have reason to believe(from my mother)that, we may be related. If we are, I believe we would be 3rd or 4th cousins. My mother's side of the family comes from Providence, Rhode Island...If we remember correctly, Sally Harris would be my grandmother's niece..(or something like that)... Anyway, if not, I enjoyed the article on VH1 and will visit the Cowsills site again. Thank You! Sandy...from Tennessee
listening to the soundclips brings back happy memories of my teenage years when I used to pretend to be a member of the Cowsill family and was so jealous of Susan because she had so many older brothers. Thanks for the page, it is great.
I really love your music, both old and new. I'm so glad you're back in the music scene. I watched your doc on VH1 'Behind the Music'.
From the first time I listened to "The Rain, The Park, and The Other Things" in the fall of 1967, I wondered about the basis for that song. Would you please tell the story behind it? I'd appreciate it Thanks, Dean
One of the first live bands I ever saw was the Cowsills . They performed at the Steel Pier in Atlantic City it must have been around 66-67. I can still see them all packed in their station wagon waving to their fans after performing. Some things just stick in your mind forever.
I have wondered for years whatever became of the Cowsills & just today I discovered your website. John covered my walls in the 60's & 70's & I still listen to their music. Oh how I wish they would reunite near Chicago! I will definately be visiting this website often. Thank You!!
I saw the VH-1 program where "The Cowsills" were featured, and although I wasn't even born when they made it big in the late 60's and 70's, I must say that their's is a wonderful and touching story. I look forward to hearing and learning more about them. Best of luck!
I was so excited to hear you guys on Mark and Brian recently....I wondered whatever happened to you! You don't know me, but I grew up with you all and your music. I still have all your old albums and look forward to hearing the new CD. I'd really like to see individual pages of everyone with current pics and info and would appreciate addresses of the clubs where you'll be performing. Cool logo and website! Thank you and take care of yourselves :)
These people have no clue as to the amount of happiness they brought my best friend, Cindy, and I. Hours upon hours of listening to them, watching them, and meeting them. When I listen to their music now, it takes me back to a time of such innocence and it was a wonderful time for all concerned. It's wonderful to know that they're doing okay and I still get that same feeling of warmth when I see how they look today. Thanks for the memories!
Saw VH1 last night and enjoyed the update on you guys. Was a huge fan of yours. It brought back memories of plastering my bedroom walls with pictures of all of you that I got out of "16 Magazine" and Tiger Beat. Good luck to all of you and I hope to hear more from you in the future
Great website -- one of the best I've seen. Would never have found it if it wasn't for VH1 and Where Are They Now! The Cowsills were my first concert ever (Steel Pier in Atlantic City, NJ) and I'll never forget it. My friends and I use to listen to your music for hours on end, totally in love with John and wanting/pretending to be Susan. How cool that you're back doing your music -- it's about time -- we've missed you. I wish you the best of luck, it was great catching up on VH1. I've been singing Indian Lake all day -- what a great flashback!!!!!!!!!!!
saw your segments on VH1 last night. it brought back such memories and the warm feelings i still have for you all and your music. Phx 1971, i was in the 8th grade when i saw you in concert (sponsored by Milk/Dairyman's Assoc). even today, when i hear one of your songs on the radio, it puts a smile on my face. THANKS for sharing yourselves with us again. you have been missed but never forgotten. any plans on releasing a "greatest hits" cd? BEST TO ALL!
I can't believe I found this site. Still have my ticket from over 30 years ago from a concert in Massachusets at a school. Just screamed the night away and prayed John would throw the drum sticks my way. So great seeing this site and getting to bring back all these old memories. Wish the Cowsills the very best of everything for the joy they brought to me.
I WOULD LOVE TO SEE MORE IN THE APPEARNACES AREA. WOULD BE TICKLED TO DEATH IF YOU WERE APPEARING IN THE SOUTH FLORIDA AREA ANYTIME IN THE NEAR FUTURE.
This is a great web site it is great to see you all performing i left a message on your message board can you call fax or Email me I do alot of concerts from the 60 to the 90 thanks mike copley butterfly productions
Thanks for the info about the Cowsills. It was so sad they dropped out of my life and I never knew where they were. I plan to visit often. God Bless each of you.
When I was a kid,in the mid 60's, I saw you guys shopping at Macys dept store at 34 St. I was too shy to say hello as I rode behind you on the escalator. You guys were with your mother and it may have been around the holidays. Good luck.
Still love hair and your harmonies.
I also just saw a segment on you guys on television show... Where are they now... and reminded me of youth when I went to see you guys here in Waterloo, Iowa... when you were on tour... my first rock concert:) Thanks
THANKS FOR THIS BLAST FROM MY PAST IT BROUGHT A TEAR TO MY EYE AND JOY TO MY HEART. I EVEN SENT A CARD TO MY CHILDHOOD BEST FRIEND I'M SURE IT WILL DO THE SAME FOR HER.
Just saw the vh1 docu on your band......man, I'm still flashing back! In fact, I just spent last weekend in Tupper Lake New York, and had to drive through Indian Lake New York to get there. I had that song in my head for hours thank you.My personal brush with the band was when they played in upstate New York (like I know the year) I was maybe 10ish. The band was playing and I went up to snap some pics, when 3 of the guys came off stage and got right in my lense. (still have the pic) It was a great show I remember, although that picture will always haunt me, forever changing my life....signed, chuck manson
Hope you got my message. Hope to hear from you soon.
I Just watched a TV show about the Cowsills and it brought back wonderful memories. I loved you concert at the Michigan State Fair. I did silly things in those days like sending John a fan letter on toliet paper. Did you ever get it? Good Luck with your future singing careers. Sheree-Orlando Florida
Hi Cowsills - I don't know if you will remember me but I went to school with you at Hollywood Professional. I saw you guys on tv a couple of weeks ago (Where are thy now ?) it was great! At the time I knew you I was in a band called the Visions. Paul Cowsill and his girlfriend at the time (Mary), and my girlfriend Pam went out a few times together. I am currently living in Sacramento and working for MCI as a programmer analyst. Would love to hear from you and would like to know if you have any photos from Hollywood Professional School. I'm pleased to hear that you are still performing and recording music. Hope to hear from you....Bill Dalton
I tuned into an oldie's station in Nashville last week. I heard " The rain " and remembered that I meet one of your guys in CA ( I think it was CA i used to do alot of traveling ). I just took a pot shot if you had an internet page. To my surprise, I had found one of the best designed web pages since on the net. I have been on the net since back it was more UNIX based. Keep up the good work ! i've been a fan since the 60's. Please say hello to Susan for me. She was my first crush I ever had .
I just found your website this evening. I have gotten to read part of it. I really liked your music when I was growing up. It's good to know that you haven't lost your love for music.
I devoted a page in my 1982 book "The Top Ten" to the Cowsills and, as that was in those pre-internet days, it sure wasn't easy researching the story of such an important group that is almost entirely ignored by most pop/rock historians. I'm the Music Editor of Reader's Digest and have most of the group's original LPs and singles in my collection. It certainly is annoying that the "Best Of The Cowsills" CD adaptation of the original MGM LP that's been out for many years leaves off so much good stuff -- and is devoid of in-depth liner notes!
I have to say thank you for all the music you gave us in the sixties. A big hello from your fans in Brazil.
Good job you guys. Keep it up. Say hi to Susan.
Received my "Global" CD today. It is absolutely fabulous. You guys are GREAT!
Hi Susan! I haven't seen you in a while, how are you? The site is so great! It inspired me to listen to "II x II" today. Yeay! Tell Peter hi from me and Heidi. Oh, I have one more thing to add... "I'm *not* a little girl!" hee hee hee :) Leslie
Bob & Mary, Greetings and sincere wishes. I saw Dennis today and he gave me a short update. Drop me a note, I'd like to hear what's up with your family. Congratulations on the album. Cary Charlin drcary@earthlink.net
Hi, I have a Radio show in Costa Rica, it is an "Oldies" show called "ANTOLOGIA". I was looking for some biographical data, which I could not find. Please add a BIO section. Thanks for the memories and the great music, we also knew about you. And we still play your music in RADIO DOS, 99.5 and 95.5 FM.
GREAT SITE! Hey Guys, don't know if you remember me.....but lots of years ago (I won't say how many} your cousin Janet brought me to your house and we had a great time. Love your stuff.......and by the way......HI PAUL! La Crescenta misses you! :)

Great home page, overall. Lots of variety, lots to choose from. The only thing I would like to see changed is that some of the picture gallery pictures ought to be bigger when you click on them to see a bigger version of the same picture. Thanks for reading!
HI, Great web site! I was wondering were The Cowsills featured in 'Langendorf' bread commercials way back in the mid-60's? I'm having flashback to a this commercial and seeing a bunch of kids and the song going something like.."Grow grow grow with Lang Lang Langendorf bread, it's doubly declicious(sp?)" Was this them or another large family????? :-) Bobbi
You guys are still the greatest !!!!!
I heard you on Mark and Brian this morning and it brought back some old hippie feelings from long ago. You still sound so bright and good. Wish those times were back. Would love to hear you in person.
My boyfriend and I were discussing oldies when he asked me if I remembered the Cowsills, I replied no and he looked at me as if I were an alien. After he started naming songs such as hair, and Indian Lake, all those wonderful memories returned. He found this site for me and I just love it, Keep up the singing & the good work. We love ya.
I heard you guys on M&B today it was great,i love that song,i'm only 21 ,and its weird cuz i only listen to hiphop but i love the song "HAIR" and "THE PARK"......THANK YOU i
What fun to find this site...and recognize some people I used to know back then. Great work to all who helped put this together. As Arnold would say...I'll be back!

I just heard you on Mark & Brian's show. Thanks for sounding so great and bringing back so many GREAT memories. I wondered what had happened to all of you. Where in No. Calif. is Barry hanging out these days? I hope to see you perform if you get to No. California. Will you be doing that soon?
would like to hear more about all of you
WELL, YOU JUST WOULDN'T BELIEVE MY DAY TODAY! AFTER 32 YEARS I FINALLY MET JOHN COWSILL. HE WAS MY FAVORITE ONE BACK WHEN I WAS AN 11 YEAR OLD GIRL. I KISSED HIS PICTURE EVERY NIGHT AND LISTENED TO THE RECORDS DURING THE DAY. I HAVE EVERY ALBUM THAT THEY EVER MADE. I WAS THE ULTIMATE COWSILL FAN. AND TODAY I HAPPENED TO WAIT ON HIM WHERE I WORK. YOU CAN IMAGINE MY SURPRISE AND DELIGHT. IT BROUGHT BACK ALL THOSE 11 YEAR OLD FEELINGS. JOHN WAS VERY GRACIOUS AND KIND AND EVEN GAVE ME AN AUTOGRAPH AND TOLD ME ABOUT THIS WEBSITE. THANKYOU JOHN FOR MAKING MY DAY AND FOR LETTING THIS 41 YEAR OLD "GIRL" HAVE A GREAT THRILL!!
Hey, Cowsills! I saw you on the VH1 show "Where Are They Now?" with Glen Campbell and a few others. I never knew you were the inspiration for the Partridge Family. Well, it's probably obvious who the better band was. You look and sound pretty cool, and you get along better than most families these days. I know a good pop melody when I hear it, and you all have been doing it since the '60s. Good luck and goodbye!
Everybody here in Iowa says"hello". You all need to come play around here! Please send me the address to get John's new cd(the church)...thank you
Hi! I saw you on the music channel, where are they now! I loved the song Hair! I'm glad I got to see you then and now! I love the way you think, and especially about having kids and not taveling so you can give them a good life! You have a neat family and a very healthy outlook on life! I wish you the best!
Just to say that I am glad that I found you....I wish you luck...gwen
Just an old Cowsill fan that stopped to say Hello! I remember them from when they used to perform at Bambi's. Those were the best days!!!!!!!
I WAS ON AN ALBUM A LONG TIME AGO,THAT HAD SUSAN COWSILL AND DWIGHT TWILLEY DOING SOME VOCALS..AND THE COVER ART WAS BY DWIGHT....IT WAS CALLED THE EXPLOSIVE SAMPLER FROM TULSA JUST WANTED TO SAY HI..MY GIRLFRIEND WAS IN A BAND CALLED FOODCHAIN....... THANX......
Just noticed I made a typo on my E mail address-wanted to correct it!
Hi Everyone! I haven't signed in awhile, but something happened today that I just HAD to share with people I know will understand. My husband was a thrift store today and picked up a Cowsill album, not knowing if I already had it or not. The album was "On My Side"...Big deal, you say??? Wel, the kicker is that I used to have a copy of the album but my ex-husband threw it away (accidently?!?) in 1981. As I looked at the back of the album cover I got today I saw a heart was drawn around Bob's head and the words "Gina loves Bob Cowsill". Yeppers, it was the album I lost so many long years ago. I think I'll keep THIS husband.
Thanks for the memories. I always loved your sound and thought it was unique for the time. I really enjoyed seeing the new pictures of everyone. Thanks again
Paul, I'm an old friend just poking around the computer and punched in the cowsills. I was in 6th grade at Berkley-Peckham and 7th grade at Middletown HS with you. Goes back a long ways so wouldn't blame you for not remembering. I remember just enough to say I remember little. I recall you were a pretty good ball player/athlete. So was Eddie Brown Elijah, Me (maybe). I dont remember any of the teachers names like the 6th grade teacher who told stories most of the time while drooling from the corner of his mouth. Told a good one about him and a friend putting booze into an outboard motor one time to get back to shore. I still have contact with two other people from that place at that period of time. Bob Curran, and his sister Lael. If you don't recall my name you may remember my mother took a group of 12 yr old sixth graders to the bird sanctuary around Newport somewhere. She was driving a blue and white 57 ford station wagon. It was still running in 1982 last I heard. Anyway drop a line if you feel like it. Sincerely, Steve Lippert
I AM SO GLAD YOU GUYS HAVE THIS WEB SITE!!!! I DIDN'T KNOW IT EXISTED UNTIL A WEEK AGO!!!!i AM A LIFE-LONG COWSILL FAN.
I went to MHS with Bill, Bob & Dick in the 60's. I will always remember the great concerts when the Cowsills played!
Hi John!!! Its me Dawn (oly's ex) I saw your familys special on VH1 and i thought i would look up your web page way cool!!! :) I hope things are well with you and I will see you at the next Cynthia gig !! love dawn
Growing up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, I always thought I was the greatest Cowsill fan in the world. I finally got to see them Live in Los Angeles in the late seventies. It was thrilling. To this day I still love every one of the Cowsills. It is so exciting to see them back together! The Cowsills contributed greatly to making my junior high and high school years extremely happy. Thanks to all of you!!
I have such fond memories of my childhood and that includes the "Cowsills." Spring of 1968 I became a member of their Fan Club. For hours I would listen (with my cousin Linda) to each and every song on their albums. Her favorite song was "Dreaming of Linda." I still have my original fan club booklet and yellow picture postcard. $1.00 to join. I was thrilled. Not long ago my family and I thought about taking a trip to Rhode Island. We called the Newport Chamber of Commerce to have brochures sent to us. As we were talking the Secretary told me she went to school with Susan Cowsill. I could have talked with her for a very long time. We are hoping to see the house they lived in, the one on the album cover. Barbara had a beautiful voice. I loved to hear her sing, "There's A Bridge." Because of my age I was in love with Barry. However, I thought Bob had the greatest eyes. If my memory has not failed me I remember Bob wanting to be a Math Teacher when he got out of school. I still have all of my albums from way back when. Still searching for CD's and have not been able to locate? Any help would be appreciated. If I had a way of letting them know I would say thank you for the music and many great memories growing up. All of you did a great job and I appreciate the time you took from your childhood to entertain all of us in the USA. Thanks, Debbie
Was a huge fan...just found the site today, and it brought back great memories. Saw the Cowsills in concert 3 times, had a huge crush on John (even remember his birthday--March 2. It's good to see that y'all are still around. Best wishes, I'll be keeping up with you now that I know where to find you.
I was living in S.F. when "The Rain, The Park, etc. came out and was spinnin' the hits at a local station with "Hair" I always have good feelin's when I hear your music and I've always wondered how the "Partridge Family" would have turned out. I saw the VH-1 story just a few minutes ago and it's good to see you are all well and doing good. Thanks for the memories and the music.
North Kingtown High School class of "73" Some of those days in school were rough, thats when I went to Indian Lake and jumped in. Did'nt one of you go to N.K.H.S. ?
It's so kewl that you guys...and girl...are going back at it after all these years. I used to play in bands myself back on Long Island, NY (Where I'm from.), so I know the drill. As a person that just turned 45, I love it whenever I find out about groups that I loved back in the 60's and 70's showing that they've still got musical creativity in them. While I tried for many years to make it myself in music, I was never able to. I finally ended up doing what I do now, an electronics technician for the US Postal Service. I wish nothing but the best to you all. L8R
I enjoyed reading about the Cowsills.
Hi, I went to DeLaSalle with one of you, but your name was Bill at the time. I moved to Miami where I was in a band called EVIL. We enjoyed minor success on Capitol, but all these years later, someone has put out an album, CD and single of our music, and we're recording again June 27th. Nice to know things go on. Wondering if you might remember me?
Hey I saw you all on VH1's where did they go show. I was glad to see that you all stuck together through all the bad times and that you are not bitter because of it. I really enjoy all of you old mucic and hope you are successful in the future. Sincerely, Andrew Traver
A great site for a great group. I wish you'd do a tour again.
It's about time! It's about space! It's about time you claim your place! It's in your blood and the place you love! Name the places so I can see your faces. Your in my blood and that means love.
The rain, the park and other things has always been a favorite song of mine. I'm 41, and it still makes me feel good. A timeless classic. Lets hear an updated version from you guys. Saw the VH1 feature, and thought you guys could have gotten better press. I'm going out tomorrow to buy a Cowsills CD. Take care.
I just finished watching the VH1 "Where are they now", and I wanted to congratulate ALL of you for surviving the pitfalls of life. I'll listen to the album and hope it sounds as good as the early years.
Just saw you on Where are they now? on VH1 last night and it brought back so many memories. What a great time it was back then, all of you jamming, out on the porch while we listened, looking down on King's Park. I also loved sledding down the hill on your property (make sure to stop or hit the garage at the bottom.) I was saddened to hear about your parents, they were good people. So, my question is: When are you all going to come back home, where you belong and play again for us? You are greatly missed.
I saw the you all on VH-1, and really enjoyed it. I can remember listening to "Hair" when I was younger, and my Daddy having a fit! I really enjoyed your site, sent a card to a friend... But most of all, I'm glad that you're still singing.
Great website! Glad to see you are still making music! Hi to Bob--we worked together way back in 1985 at that weird travel place in Glendale with our good buddy, Cheryl Jersey. Do you remember me??
Great site. Thank-you for it. Saw your piece on VH 1. Hope all continues to go well for you. Regards, Larry E.
Hi Gang.. FANTASTIC seeing all of you on VH1 tonight. Yes, I was part of the "have a crush on a Cowsill" group when young. :o) Each week my girlfriends and I would fight over who liked which of you more. I recall sitting for hours playing your records and have one of your back covers to one of your albums engraved in my mind... ( back yard of a large house, all sitting on the grass.) Now older and much wiser, ( yeah, right..:o) ) I treasure the innocense you imbued and the memories your music helped to etch in my mind. Wonderful to see you making Lemonade out of the Lemons! Please enjoy my site as well if you get a chance. All the BEST to you! still try to
Just saw the VH-1 tribute. You guys sounded great and brought me back to memories of the Paul Revere Show (can't remember the name!) that you appeared on. Had a huge crush on Susan and she still looks as great as this site is. Keep pushing on (and if you ever run out of gas in Kansas. .....!) http://www.geocities.com/SoHo/Den/1151/edwards/edwards
As great as you are as close brothers and sisters. There is an neglected child attitude you all seem to share. Does the fact that you're making your own music again...help you to heal? I wish you luck and hope to find your cd at my local store soon. Thanks for sharing your talent.
I recently saw a special on VH-1 about your band. I was small child when you were at the hight of popularity.I had no idea that the Partridge Family show was modeled after your family. I must say I'm quite impressed.
After all these years, I still love you all! Come to Calgary sometime! Would really love to see you! Marlene Wallewein
it's great!!!!
Bob, after our chat today, I checked out the web site. Lots of fun.!!!
Misspelled my own e-mail address in the previous post. *Sigh*.
I was searching UBL for Cowboy Mouth ((Fred's a friend of mine from the Dash Rip Rock days)) and there were the Cowsills! So i hopped on over to check it out; looks very nice, and i'll be putting a link from the music links page of my own site, which already sends people who bother to look to thr Roches, Cowboy Mouth, Fairport Convention, and other sites. I've been a Cowsills fan since The Beginning, glad to see there's something still there...
Thanks for the wonderful music. It always brings smiles.
WOW. I really feel old!! I've been a fan since the mid-60s, and got to see y'all in Dallas a couple of times, got a kiss from John at one of the State Fair performances, and in 1970 even showed up at the Santa Monica house & got a couple of pix w/Barry, John (my fave!!) and Paul. Keep it going - y'all are awesome.
saw review of global in latest issue of goldmine magazine(great review). ordered the cd and it's fantastic. had to go out and get greatest hits, too. also, liked first continental drifters cd.
WELCOME BACK COWSILLS! I think this is great! I recently saw your interview on "E", and I was thrilled to hear you are back! I was an avid fan in the 60's and the 70's, and I have all your records. Now I see you have all your great songs on CD's. I'll make sure to check out the site to order them, along with your new CD! It's great to have you all (almost all) back, and to cathcup on all that's been going on in the Cowsill family. When are you going to start performing in the New England area?
Hello Susan I Just read you were born in Canton when did you move to Rhode Island? If you were born here What hospital were you born at because I was born at old Mercy March of 58 and my brother May21 of 59 so take care hope you get this message Heidi
I am searching to find one of the Cowsills old albums for a friend. He told me it was called The Cowsills All time Hits. It has Hair on it and 4 other songs he loves. Can you help me find it? I have called record stores in the DFW area and they say it is not in production. You can reach me by E-mail. THANKS!
I'm 43 years old and to this day, I don't miss two days oflistening to your music. When I was about 32 years old, I was listening to your greatest hits CD on my way to a job interview, and the combination of moods it evoked in me sparked me to begin writing. I now have one novel, a collection of short stories, and half of a second novel completed. Thank you very much for your continuing influence.
This has brought back waaay too man memories..thanks guys!!!
I saw the VH1 where are they now and was glad to hear they are making music again. I had the pleasure of seeing them back in the 60 when they appeared in Atlantic City at Steel Pier. They were so nice and I even got all their autographs.
Brought back great memories to wander thru the website. Hello to all of you who might remember this still teaching fossil who remembers the family with great fondness as they tred the halls of Middletown HS.
I think it is wonderful that you have a new CD and I am really looking forward to receiving mine. Your site is alot of fun and I have told m a n y people about it. I am a child of the 60s and 'our music' was soooo good. You were such an important part of that....and I am very happy to know that you are together as a family and producing music. I look forward to seeing you 'out there'.....a dose of the Cowsills could be good for what ails us.
When are you all appearing in San Diego? I do karoake and I sang your song HAIR and it was a big hit with the crowd, now I'm asked to do it often they all love it! Even the younger crowd get into it!
I truely enjoyed visiting the Cowsills' web site.
I remember seeing the group sing on Ed Sullivan I think. I remember the little girl saying something about her older brother being in the Vietnam War as I recall. It was something she seemed worried about and I felt sorry for her and her family. I really did enjoy your music when I was probably about 6 years old. I think I still have the 45's of some of those songs. The Indian Lake, The Rain,The Park, and Other Things. I wondered what ever happened to The Cowsills. I was watching VH-1 and learned about your ordeals and web address. I hope you all get back on your feet again. When I was a young kid, I thought it was somewhat weird that The Cowsills were here then along comes the Partidge family. VH-1, I think, said the Partridge Family was based on The Cowsill Family story. I am sorry you lost your mother and father. Love the Lord more than yourselves, be strong and LOVE each other. Stay close. Tell each other I LOVE YOU and let it come from the heart. DON'T let anything or anyone drive a wedge between you. I watch VH-1 a have heard some of the most heartbreaking stories. From someone who has wondered what ever happened to you off and on for many years. Terry
I just got done seeing you guys on a TV special which they put you on last. So I had to stay up till 3:30am just to see what happened to you. They saved the best for last. You guys with your Mom were and still are a number one Class Act! I used to play your album till I practically wore it out on my record player. Indian Lake and others were my favorite. You guys inspired me along with others to be in the music business. Which is our full time profession here in Atlanta. Music is truely universal and bonds people together like nothing else. My condolences to you all about your mom passing away in '85 and dad passing away in '91. We have been blessed with much success here in Atlanta and if you guys ever come this way we would like to have you over for dinner. God bless you all and much success to you guys. Thank you very much for all the wonderful songs and memories you have given me in my youth at a time I really needed it. You'll never know how much your music meant to me when I was young. I didn't realize what happened to you all and got some insight from the special on TV. That TV family that was supposed to portray you guys didn't come close. Keep writing and playing music your mom would be proud of all of you! God bless all of you, really keep up the music.
Thanks for all the great songs, they will live forever. Glad to hear you're all together as a family and that you keep on going. A long time fan from Fall River, Massachusetts.
I loved the Cowsills!!! I had a crush on John and my best girlfriend had a crush on Barry. I had LOTS of Cowsillovin' penpals and we used to exchange photos and letters. Three names of penpals I can remember are Joann Carter, Sue Spence, and Nina Nahm. Nina was in California I think and I can't remember where the others lived. I still have photos of a lot of them. I think I have every Cowsill album except this latest one everyone's talking about. I saw the segment on the Cowsills on VH1's Where Are They Now? and was ecstatic to be able to see what they look like now. This web site is great! I went immediately to the guest book but plan to check out the rest! Thanks to the Cowsills for bringing back all the great memories and I'm glad so many others remember the Cowsills. May they be remembered forever!
Hi Susan: I was listening to an oldies station the other day and heard you guys. So I told the kids how I knew you in 10th grade. Do you remember emptying our piggy banks to order pizza? You kept me laughing!!!! LORI
glad to hear you guys together again, please keep it going, been a fan sice 1966... Gary
Very surprised that these guys are back and on the net! Very cool.
I have been a fan of this band since I was a child in the 60's I had my first ever crush on Susan(still do). I ssaw them live in 1967 or 68 in Memphis at the Mid-south colosieum during the Mid-south fair!! They were fantastic. I will always have great memories of them singing with Andy Williams on his tv shows. I hope they have lots of sucess and will play Memphis again soon.
Finding your website brought back alot of neat memories of my teenage years. I heard about the webpage from VH1 Where are they now? and had to let you know I still listen to your music and enjoy it just as much!!!!!
My best friend and I fought over your "Hair" record in 1968 and I won it for a time. The record shop had sold out and we bought the last copy to share. I loved it and it still brings back great memories. The music back then was my favorite and still is today. I am going to get your new CD and know I will love it. I saw you on VH-1's Where are they now? just this morning. Glad you're back and wish you much success.
Hi Paul, Bill Do we miss the school house on the hill? Middletown Class of 70 30 years in 2000 Paul I'll EMail you the details.
What a great album! It's the best pop record I've heard in a long time. Some of the influences are obvious - such as The Bangles, Dwight Twilley. The Raspberries, and the Who, but it all adds up to a unique and wonderful work. I sure hope it sells well, even without "regular" distribution. I keep changing my mind regarding my favorite song. It seems like which ever one is currently playing becomes my fave. Right now, it's a tie between "Far Away" and "She Said To Me." Congratulations to Bob and Mary Jo for the outstanding writing on the album, and the entire band for the wonderful singing and playing. I'm AMAZED how good this is. Any chance of reissuing the older albums? From the look of the comments at this site, there is a waiting audience. And I can't wait (I guess I'll have to though) for GLOBAL II. In the meantime, our household will be playing GLOBAL a lot. Thanks for a truly wonderful album, and best wishes to everyone involved with the music, and this site. It is appreciated.
I haven't signed in for awhile, but try to check out the site daily...With 2,000,000,000 web sites it's still BY FAR my favorite...Loved the Cowsills "then" and "now" and at all points in between...Have met a really nice "cyber pal" named Debbie thru this site-we understand each other and laugh about things it iturns out we both did as teens (She kissed John's pics while Bob was my "older man" of choice)...Hope ya'll have as much fun with all this as I do-it's why I signed up on AOL in the first place...I LOVE IT !!!
I really have enjoyed the CD "Global" by the group. It's great.Looking forward to the next one and to seeing "The Candy Kid" released on a cd as a bonus track as other songs were like "The Impossible Years", "The Milk Song", etc. Glad to see you are back and I hope I get to see you live some time. God Bless Paul Dooley
I was'nt born until 68 and I know I missed alot. i can recall falling in love with the ideal of the flower girl and then every so often i would be amazed to hear somthing else and find out it was the Cowsills. I have not yet heard all the songs but also I have not yet heard one that didnt have an impact on me. I also learned on this site that the cowsills have been busy through the years that did my heart good. It made me feel better to know they didn't just quit cold and lay down and die. although until now I didnt know they were involved in so many great songs the past 30 years inow realize thier influence has been present!
Your "Global" CD certainly made my workday more enjoyable today. I enjoyed it more than any CD that I've listened to lately. "Far Away" is great!!
Enjoyed the VH1 segment Brought back fun memories of my youth! I always wondered what happened to the Cowsills Now I know they're still making music!
I was so happy to discover the Cowsill web site. Having loved the Cowsills since I was 13 or 14 (44 now) and now to have up to date info and pictures of them is so cool. I got your Global cassette and the music is great. Keep the music coming. Hope to see you in person if I ever get to CA.
Wow, serious flashbacks, Pickwick Pub, lots of Harp and the best music ever. Bob, your site is brining back wonderful memories. We'll have to come see you next time we're back in the Valley. Thanks for the memories!!!
After 30 some years of adoring the Cowsills, I am so glad there is a way to keep up with them again. Do you think John would marry me? It's been my dream forever!
Many years ago my brother and I knew John,Barry and Susie. We went to school in Middletown,R.I. and lived up the street fromthem on Peckham Ave.We went trick or treating a couple of times and played at the big house overlooking the water. Some of my fondest memories are of R.I. and I'm glad you guys were a part of it.I often wondered what ever became of you all and now I can keep up!!
I loved you 30 years ago and watched a special about you all the other night on VH1. It was so great to see you are still making awesome music. Good work!!!!!!! Keep SMILING and Be HAPPY!!!! Karin :-)
I can not believe the Cowsills are back. When I was growing up I would by all the teen magazines nad take out all the pictures of John and hang them on my wall. I was also in their fan club. I would write letters to John and send him pictures. I really believed that one day I would meet him and he would fall in live with me. I'm really glad to see the group making a come back I just hope they will come to the Boston area one day. THAT WOULD BE A DREAM COME TRUE. lOVE ALWAYS NANCY
I was excited to see that ther r still cowsill fans in the 90s I loved the cowsills 30 years ago & they r sill great today
I moved to Mich about 3 years ago. I really miss going to Pickwicks Pub and watching Bob. Bob, are you still playing their? Can you sing American Pie for me?
Congrats on the new recording.. I am sure we will all enjoy your music again just like we did eons ago. The Where Are They Now? segment on VH-1 was great. I was sorry to hear about your parents. Keep the great music coming, it brings back such good memories!!

I like the site. I'm glad you are all doing well. I recently saw "Where are there now". Your piece was refreshing. It's nice to see someone else thinks of family first.
Great Web Page!
Love the site... Got your address off VH1's "Where are they Now!" Keep up the good work.
Greetings from Spokane! I saw your story on VH1's "Where Are They Now" and I was happy to see you're still here. I have to say that "Indian Lake" is one of my favorites. Keep the faith, and thanks for the music.

Hi everyone. Saw the update on E Tonight. Good luck with new Cd. Looking for old Cowsill freinds from the penpal circuit...poeple like Jo and Cheryl R, and Sarah H. from Philly....Kathi K from Kansas, Debbie F from CT, we all got together in Atlantic City summer of 71 for WEEK at Steel Pier. It was great fun. Debbie F from Ct and I also met up with Susan in 74 or thereabouts, at their home in Warwick at Cowessett Hills, Sue invited us in and we saw the oil painting Jo R did of Hallidon Hall hanging in the living room. Alot of great memories are freindships were made as a result of your family. Best to ALL cOWSILLS/
Barry.....went to PCS with you. Drop me an E-mail. It's only been 30 some odd years!!!!
"Heather Says" was a deliriously wonderful song. Are there any more Cowsill songs out there like that one?
I just wanted you to know that I watched the VH-1's regular show, "Where Are They Now"?, yesterday and it brought back a lot of memories for me. I am 38 years old. I was a BIG fan of the Cowsills!!! I lived in a very small town (South Hill, VA), and my stepfather was a DJ at the local radio station. I would bug him and every other DJ to play the Cowsills!!! I am so glad that your family has flourished in the face of adversity! My brother (the baby - he is the youngest and I am the oldest) plays with Fighting Gravity, a Mercury Record label band. I am so proud of him. Especially coming from a family of musicians. Keep of the great work. Just a quick addage: "Everything old is new again. Very Sincerely, Karen Toombs
I WAS A KID LIVING IN INDIAN LAKE,NY DURING THE LATE 1960'S. I NEVER HAD THE PLEASURE OF HEARING THE COWSILL'S IN CONCERT, BUT I DID MEET THE FAMILY 2 YEARS IN A ROW WHEN THEY VACATIONED IN THAT TOWN. I ALSO HAD THE PLEASURE OF WEARING THE GROOVES OFF SEVERAL OF THEIR LP'S. I WAS NEVER IN LOVE WITH ANY OF THEM BACK THEN-THEY DIDN'T ALLOW THAT SORT OF THING IN THOSE DAYS, AND SUSAN WAS TOO YOUNG!!
My name is Barbara Yedlowski, I am deputy Town Clerk in Indian Lake, New York. Someone saw you on ET and we were glad to hear that your coming back. Tony Romeo had our Town in mind for his song and most of us still sing it. The Town of Indian Lake has enjoyed your past performances of the song which was written with our Town in mind. We continue to this day to sing and/or play this song at Spring concerts, parades, and community events. As well as local taverns, bars, and parties. We hear your group is back together and would love to invite you back to Indian Lake, to sing the song Indian Lake among many other favorites, for a "flash" performance. We have a special sponsorship for a fireman who died of heart disease, kidney failure, among other problems, where we raise money for scholarships to benefit area individuals and this would be the perfect place of a performance from you. Please let us know what you thing. Thanks, Barry J. Hutchins, Town Supervisor P.O. Box 730 Town of Indian Lake, New York 12842 518-648-5885 e-mail address: ilois@telenet.net
Listening to the radio, not long ago, heard "The rain, the park and other things". Brought tears to my eyes as I remembered reading about your family in Sixteen Magazine. I wondered about Susie and Barry, but couldn't remember the others. Time does that. It was so good to find this website. Sorry to hear about your folks.
The Cowsills, wow how cool to see you all still doing what you love best. I saw you guys a few years ago in Newport RI at the Newport yachting center. It was awesome to see you play live.I like PJ Lewis am from Newport and my Dad was friendly with members of your family back a bunch of years when you used to play at places like The Electric Elephant, and Bambi's in Newport. Anyway I am going to pass this web site along to my dad he will really appreciate it..I hope to see you in Newport,RI sometime soon.....John West
Hello, my name is P.J. Thanks, PJ
I had to come back after reading the guestbook. WOW!! The comments I read, brought back so many memories. I'm originally from the Warrensburg/Lake George region and my first concert was at Saratoga Performing Arts, in July of 1967 (around that time anyway). Mom and Sue were sick, so it was only the four boys, it was great. I fell in love with John. The following year, I went to see them at Colonie Colesium. They were on a circular stage, I loved it. I still have all my pictures/albums and scrapbooks. I was very luck to see them years later again in 1993-94 when I was in California. What memories! I'm glad to see so many fans admitting they loved them, it was a wonderful, wonderful, time, I wish I could relive it again!!!
If you're reading, Marsha, HI, it's Penny. I've been a Cowsill fan for...well years, since 1967!! I got to see them again while I was in California, it was great. Glad to see them out there again. Thrilled they have a webpage!!!!
What a wonderful walk down memory lane when I listen to your old songs. As a local disc Jockey I use to get hollered at all the time by the program director for playing too many cowsill songs back to back. Oh well I managed to survive it and evidently so have you.
Here I am, 42 years old and sending a fan letter to a group I haven't seen in 28 years. The last time I heard your music was at the Auto Show in San Antonio Texas and yet I can remember it like it was yesterday. What a thrill to know that you guys are still around and well. I never really had the to say that I absolutely loved your music and still do. I have a CD that has the greatest hits on it and Hair is included. I play it quite a bit when I'm at work and in a state of confusion and need a little pick me up. You are the rememberance of my youth and I am proud to say that I am a fan and will always be a fan. Best to you all. Jody Mazzarese P.S. One of my favorite songs was about a boy named Johnny that went off to war. Could you please tell me the title (after all these years I can't seem to remember).
Nice web site!! Loads of info. Looking forward to seeing what you are up to. Take care.
Hello Susan,I don't know if you will remember me or knot. It's been abuot ten years. The last time we talked was right after Paula died. I have often wondered were you were, and how you were doing. Iwas sitting at work today and there was an inter view with you and your brothers on one of the music chanels. It was realy great to see you. Your web site stated that were in New Orleans now and that you are married and have a doughter. Please get in touch with me it would be great to here from you. Do you still have the needl pointwe made as a joke that time "THEE SUSAN COWSILL"Well take care and it was great to see you happy and healthy.
I think this site is great!!!!!!! I listened to the Cowsills way back when and have everyone of their albums.
Seeing you on VH1 brought back memories of a time of youth, innocence and hope. The Vietnam War not included, life was much nicer then. It's too bad our society has lost so much of the positive energy we had back then. Dare to dream ! -Curt-
Wow! I really enjoyed the "exposé" on you guys on VH1! Watching it felt like seeing old friends you haven't seen for years. I was also very saddened to hear that your mother had past away some time ago. Your music means a lot to me and now my kids listen to you!
i saw your feature on vh1 and was glad that you are still making music. as soon as i figure out this comp stuff i'll try to get more info on you guys. thanks for still hangin in.
I just caught the "Where are they now" this last Saturday...should have known that they would save the best for last and by that time Mom and Baby had dozed off! Hope to catch it again. Have throughly enjoyed browsing through the site and "catching up" with folks who were literally my wall paper from 69-72 while living in Panama...once, as a punishment, my dad (career Army) made me remove all the pictures of John and Barry that I had up! The whole experience scarred me for life! (Jokes!!) Barry I really enjoyed the visit to your spot in cyberspace and will return again just on the chance that you may have read this. Glad to have "found" you all again! Thanks for the music!
Our families met in Garland Tx in 68 or 69 when your family came and sang at an anti-drup rally my parents help put on at Williams Stadium in Garlannd Texas. Our families spent the next weekend in Lubbock Texas together. Susan, my brother Darrell and myself hung out together and played on a merry-go-round by the pool at the Holiday Inn in Lubbock. My brothers and I were cleaning my mother's attick out and come upon some pictures of you guys by the pool. I know we have more somewhere in that house. We are still searching for those and some newspaper articles on the concert. It's been great seeing on television. My brothers and I often talk and wonder whatever became of you guys and now we know. Hope you success on your new album. I will try to purchase it someday. Much love, Julie Prudhomme
if you can understand what i wrote in my other comments god bless you i made a lot of errors sorry about that good luck again thats not the way they taught us at st. joes
good to see your coming back. My memories of the cowsills goes back to Saint Josephs School first thru third grade. I remember bill and richard singing in our christmas play richard got sick and the nuns had a try out for some one to fill in it was up to me to fill his shoes but i cant remember which cowsill it was got better so wen my minute in the spot light i was even going to have a little solo in part of the song i was there in the school days seeing how you guys rose from the christmas play in grammar school to the day the sign outside the school office at middletown high school had the cowsills as one of the bands opening bands for the Beatles at yankee stadium its great to see that your giving it another whirl good luck.
One of my favorite 60's group, never thought they would come back thats great.... hope to see them on the tv or somewhere...
I was a very big Cowsill fan in the 60's. Had all the records. Even the milk song single. I was one of the many girls in love with Barry. I missed him not being on the VH-1 "Where Are They Now?" special. Is he OK? Come to B'ham sometime!!!!!!!!
I like everyone else saw the VH-1 segement on you guys. I had always wondered what happened to all of you. Thanks for the memories and Good Luck with your new CD.
I have enjoyed everything so far but have alot more to look into. The Cowsills were my favorite as a teenager...I just LOVED them...I was so happy to see them on Entertainment Tonight and then on VH1 (only wished it had lasted longer)...but was really glad to hear about the web site. I have spent hours on this site since learning of it.
saw the vh1 segment.it brought back lots of memories.i was always a fan.john: i went to school with you..i was a friend of you're cousin susan's, and we'd sit on the bus together. my cousin worked with your mother in west kingston.good luck
I watched the clip on VH-1 "Where Are They Now?" tonight, and it brought back some memories. One in particular was the concert at the Rodeo Grounds in Salinas California with B.J. Thomas. The Cowsills had to sing, and sing, and sing while they tried to sober up B.J. I was with the TV crew backstage and witnessed it firsthand. Good to see the family again, although it was bittersweet seeing the not-so-happy stuff. Best wishes!
So glad to hear that yall have come out with a new cd. Your songs in the 60's as a teenager gave me so much pleasure. I have probably every album you put out. To this day I still pull them out and play them. Dang, what wonderfull memories. I am off to pick up the new Global CD. Thanks again for coming back into so many people lives again. I have missed you!!!!
just a fan...
hi.i just saw the where are they now show on vh1 and was wondering where barry was.got the info on your website.seems barry was the favorite of all my girlfriends in 6th grade.now i am 42 and producing records in l.a. and was actually glad to see that you guys seem to have survived what must have been a very challenging life.i work alot with randy meisner (formerly of the eagles) and we are preparing for a recording project this summer.glad to see that your'e recording and we wish you all the best.p.s.-glad to see that you aren't letting the major label nazi approach to ignoring older artists and exploiting their catalogues, stop you from just doing it!i have alot of friends that were signed when you folks were, and i just wonder...how horrible was your publishing deal? write when you have a minute and again good luck with your new album.
i saw your little thing on vh1 and it was o.k. but your sound is still how it was 30 frikkin years ago gawd talk about hippies
Just want to wish you the best of luck. I was 9 yrs old when your song hair came out. I loved it hahaha. Brings back many memoirs. Take care
I had a huge crush on Susan then, and after seeing her on VH-1, I realize I still do! What a cutie! Glad your all back, looking forward to the music!
So glad to see you all back. You offer a happy, cheerful sound, that is needed so badly in the world today.
Saw you on VH-1 "WHERE ARE THEY NOW" Youn brought back good memories. THANK YOU!
I HAD FORGOTTEN ABOUT YOUR MUSIC. SAW THE MTV STORY. YOUR WEB PAGE BRINGS BACK GREAT MEMORIES. THANKS
I make a living playing country music. (I have two CD's out) as a kid back in 1969 in Bremerton Washington I thought "if they can do it...so can I! Thanks for the musical start in life. Lance Cosgrove
I saw you at Birmingham Southern College when I was in Jr. High School at Homewood Jr. High School. I'm not sure of the year but I remember after the concert seeing Barry give Susan a "piggy-back" ride down one of the many hills there, that's when I really knew that they were just kids out having a good time. It must have been 1971 or '72. I am now 42 years young, am in a wheelchair due to Multiple Sclerosis, was Ms Wheelchair Alabama 1996, got to carry the Olympic toarch that year because of that. I have been married to the same guy (Phillip Newman) for 25 years, we have 3 great kids who are now 23,21 and 19. Seeing you in Concert will always be one of my favorite memories!
Great site and wishing you all the Best>
It's great to hear those old songs again and I really like the new ones. I remember you guys from the 60's and it takes me back to some fun times. Keep on rocking, you sound great!
Tried to listen to one of your sound bits but somehow or other I couldn't connect. Continuing on with the show.
HAD FUN LOOKING BACK AT AT ALL THE PICTURES.I JUST TYPED IN THE COWSILLS ON MY BROWSER AND BANG THERE YOU WERE. I LOVED YOUR MUSIC IN THE LATE 6O'S & 70'S WHAT A TRIP I USED TO LISTEN TO SUSAN. I THOUGHT SHE WAS JUST THE CUTEST!! I USED TO LISTENING TO SUSAN. I THOUGHT SHE WAS JUST THE CUTEST!!
I ordered "Cowsills Global" just a couple of days ago and I'm listening to it tonight. They were good 30 years ago but they are are great now! Thanks, Cowsills for coming back into our lives. Debbi
Thanks, doggie!!!
Great news! My favorite group from my early teen years have a web site! I've waited a long time to hear about them again. Living in Rhode Island, I was fortunate to have seen the Cowsills a number of times. Saw them a few years ago in Newport, Bob signed my Cowsill Fan Club book from 1968. He couldn't believe I still had it. I also saved my albums, magazine covers, and scrapbooks(which are falling apart). My husband and three sons think I'm crazy, but that was what I was, crazy for them (especially Barry)! I had my mom drive us around Newport looking for their house. I made "love beads" and handed them to Barry at a performance on Cape Cod. Great to hear you are back recording. Best of luck always, Cowsill happiness, from your home state fan, Debbie.
I saw a story on ET (in Australia) the other day about The Cowsills and it brought back some fond memories and its nice to see The Cowsills are back! I did and do still enjoy your music. Keep the faith and best wishes to you all for a happy and prosperous future. Cheers, Maria.
I WAS BACK STAGE HATCH MEMORIAL SHELL IN LATE 60's AND TOPSFIELD FAIR
The cowsills brought back memories to me of the early 1960s. I recall watching millions of men being sent over to vietnam, and then watching the killings all over America, a country I lived in, in the desert of New Mexico, but now It brought back the feelings that we were better. Somehow, the Cowsills, came on television early one Saturday after coming back from a Boys Scout retreat in 1969 and hearing the Milk Song, just made things better in my life and just a refreshing song of love. The in thing was Barbara Cowsill and the coolness of everthing especially today I turn up the volume to "Rain" You were all part of my life growing up. Sorry to hear of your parents deaths. They made America a little sweeter.
wow, what memories- the best years, my parents thought I was involved in a cult and were worried. I did some bizarre things to try to see them in concert since I lived out in the sticks of upstate NY. But I had 100 penpals from all over the world (all Cowsill fans) and had alot of emotional support from them that as a strange quiet child I couldn't get from friends or family -wouldn't trade it for anything -was in love with fellow piscean John. Because of them, I came out of my shell, joined a band and got over being shy. I went on to better things but the friendships I made because of them and the inspiration their music was in my life- kept me optimistic and in love with life. Peace and cowsill happiness (as we used to sign our letters) Cindi
I try to get on this site every morning why because The Cowsills are just simply the Best and they continue to show people good music and shows and I give them all of my support after all what are freinds for right!-mark Williams
We are huge BOB fans, and before we moved "down under" we were regulars at Pickwicks. Hope to return before too long!
I thought you all were one of the coolest bands around,My favorite song that you sung was Silver threads and Golden needles. Peace.
Hey Sue, you were my first crush and my first concert. Minneapolis 1968, with Eddy Arnold. How about a date?
What fun! I saw the ET! story on the Cowsills and then went to find this web site. Once upon a time I was a huge fan and alternately either wanted to be adopted or wanted to fall in love with John or Barry. I had every album (including their first obscure one) and saw them in concert. Never had the nerve to write a fan letter back then so I'm writing now. 30 years late. But guess what? After watching the ET special I discovered that my second husband was also a fan of yours way back when. (I can tell you my first husband wouldn't have even watched the special with me... so I guess I really did find a soulmate this time!) Thanks for putting up this web site and thanks for all the great tunes and happy dreams you gave me way back when. Mary McClain
Hi, I was young (around 5 or 6)in the late 60's but not to young not to know good tunes when I heard them. My sister and I would listen to her cowsills records all the time & the Monkee's that my brother had. I kind of forgot that she had those records until one day I heard "the rain, the park & other things" on the radio. This got me interested in wanting here the songs again. So, I borrowed her "Greatest hits" record and listened to it. I liked all those songs so much I began to search the local used record stores & record collector shows in town. I found all but one, "The Cowsills", but I hope some day I will find that last one to complete my set. Thanks for the great music of my memorable childhood.
Since the Cowsills were one of my favorite groups around '68/69 (right up there with Bobby Sherman!), it was a kick to see something about them on Entertainment Tonight (last night). I was bummed Barry wasn't on that clip! I virtually grew up with some of them (because I think one of them is my age, 43, or darn close). The website's great and a lot of fun to check out. Thanks!
I was so thrilled to see the Cowsills on ET last night...and for all my computer geekness I don't know why I never tried www.cowsills.com. Anyways, where's Barry? He was always my favorite, though I love the whole family. Your harmonies, wow!! Great to hear you guys again and I will be a frequent visitor to your website!
I've always enjoyed your music. I brings back pleasent memories of my childhood.
Hey, this message is to Paul. After seeing Entertainment Tonight and saw that there was a web address I thought I, (probably like everyone else you went to school with), would send a hello to you. I lived in Middletown when we were in class together. I believe it was maybe the seventh grade. The only memory I really have is the Art teacher slamming a book down on your desk and yelling at you! Isn't that a riot? My sister was at the high school where I remember the band playing for school dances. I still enjoy hearing your songs on the radio and was not aware that the Partridge family was inspired by your family! Thanks for reading and good luck.
Paul, It sure was nice to see you all doing so well. Stephen and I enjoyed watching the ET feature and the "Where Are They Now" program with our daughters. They were amazed to think that you lived here and went to school with us. Lisz Nemtzow is also doing some music out in California. She recorded "Restless Soul" under the name Lisa Nemzo, and still does some gigs, but I'm not sure how often. I see her once in a while when she comes home for a visit. We sure had a lot of talent in our class. I even saw Mike Radkovich's daughter singing in the RHS musical a couple of years ago. She was Bet in "Oliver". He was Oliver when we did it. So much for reminicing ... The 30th class reunion will be coming up next year. We shouldn't have any trouble locating you this time. All the best to you and the whole family. It's great to see you singing again ... Christine Stritzinger Fagan
Glad we caught you all on E.T. Bob enjoyed your music at the pub... Dave and I were glad to here that Richard and Sue are doing well... Give them our regards.. Canoga Park seems worlds away....
Saw E.T. tonight and just couldn't believe it! The Cowsills were such a intregal part of my life in the 60's & 70's. As a middle school geography teacher, I mention the Cowsill's every year as I discuss Rhode Island! Thanks for the great memories!
Hey everybody. Nothing like a Saturday night at Pickwicks having a Newcastle and listening to Bob.
I saw the Cowsills in person in 1968 at a dairy convention in Chicago,Ill. "The Worlds Largest Dairy Convention" ever!!! President Nixon was also a guest speaker. The Cowsills performed for the group of dairy farmers and their families, I was 14 at the time. I'll never forget it!I loved the Cowsills. They were doing advertisement for AMPI milk producers at the time - selling milk because of their name. I didn't really know what had happened to the Cowsills, until Entertainment Tonight came on and brought back those memories. I am glad you are all doing well!! I wish that you could have stayed around longer as I was growing up.. Glad your still making music.
Was very excited to see the Cowsills on ET. I was a big fan in the 60's and couldn't understand why you "disappeared". Thanks to ET, now I know. I never liked Partridge Family as much because they looked to fake, and were fake. The Cow- sills were/are a real family. Glad to see and hear that you are still in the music industry. I look forward to getting some CD's. Will the Cowsills as a group or individuals ever get to the San Jose area? Would love to see you perform. Thanx for a great site and thanx for bringing back some great memories! Best of luck to you all.
Truly enjoyed the look back and the new music. God Rulz!
Saw E.T. tonight and just couldn't believe it! The Cowsills were such a intregal part of my life in the 60's & 70's. As a middle school geography teacher, I mention the Cowsill's as I discuss Rhode Island! Thanks
Where to start?? I saw The Cowsills, first at Hoover Auditorium in Lakeside Ohio. Had to choose between school clothes and seeing THEM. No amount of cool clothing could ever compete with the magical night of that concert! With my new black and white "Swinger" camera in hand, I sat in the front row and alternately cried and screamed like a loon. It was so good to see on E.T. that the family is looking and sounding better than ever. Glad that I found this web site. I'll be back. Kimberly
I saw you on ET, sorry to here of your folks and glad to see and here you all doing ok. I have your "IIxII" album and had your "Hair" 45 (stolen while in the army). Keep up the good work and hope to here more from you all ! Ron Cooper
Saw you on E.T it made me HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY. All the success on your new cd. P.S. I feel 10 years younger Thanks.
My sister had tickets to see you at the university of montana in the EARLY '70s and the day of the show i got the flu! i wanted to die! she went got autographs had a ball! months later you were at the state fair in Great Falls i got to see you!!! it was mt first concert and the most fun i ever had. Charlie Pride opened for you, and we ran into Barry after the show opening the gate for the car to leave the fairgrounds, no one had a pen so no autographs BUT we got to talk to you and for us that was good enough. Yuor music never fails to make me smile! thanks for the memories.
Enjoyed your site!
The very first album I bought as a kid was The Best of the Cowsills. I especially love "Follow down the path of love. Seeing you guys again really makes me remember all the great songs you all sang. I hope you find all the success that you so richly deserve. Paul
Wow! What a treat! Saw you on ET tonight. Have been a fan since babysitter gave me my first Cowsills album for Christmas when I was 11, 'way back in 1966! Have been "hooked" since then! Had a crush on just about every brother back then...(sigh!). Here's praying for a much happier future for every one of you. (Especially you, Barry, seems you could use God's blessings!)
I am so happy to find out what happened to all of you. Great web site. Would like more recent info and pictures. Your family is my fondest memory from my teens. I met you in 1972 in Terre Haute In Linda
Saw Entertainment Tonight. Oh wow!!! It brought back many memories about the Cowsills. Cool!!!
I LOVE "The Rain, The Park, and Other Things"! Could you print the lyrics on your website?
I SAW THE COWSILLS AT THE HEART OF ILLINOIS FAIR WAY BACK WHEN. I REALLY MISS THEIR MUSIC. SORRY FOR THE LOSS OF THEIR MOTHER AND FATHER. I REALLY ENJOYED THEIR MUSIC AND I STILL DO. I HOPE THEY START SINGING AGAIN.
I REALLY HAVE MISSED HEARING THE MUSIC OF THE COWSILLS. I WENT TO SEE THEM AT THE HEART OF ILLIONIS FAIR AND I JUST LOVED THEM. I STILL HAVE THE BLACK & WHITE PHOTOS OF THEIR CONCERT AND SURE DO MISS THEM.

At 52 I hear your music, close my eyes and just melt down in great old memories. This is a gift you give to your fans, feel blessed.
I used to have a hughe crush on Barry when I was about l3 which is gee .... 30 years ago. Now my daughter who is l3 has a huge crush on the group Hanson. I am sure you heard of them too. It brings back many memories
I've loved the Cowsills since i was a child. I am 37 now, and remember seeing them in Atlantic City at the Steel Pier in I think 1969. I have all of the albums and still have some 45's, even the theme to "Love American Style". I've always wondered what happened to them after they were dropped by MGM, and the last album I have is on London Records. It was great to see that the Cowsills have their own web page. I saw a over-view on Entertainment Tonight 4/17/99. It was great to see that. Will keep browsing, and it was great to have all these memories come back to me. Thankx Bill Ratcliffe
Dumb question but did any of you ever live and attend grade school in Canton, OH?
Ever since I can remember I've had this wild crush on Susan. When I was in School sometime back I day dreamed of what it would have been like to go out on a date with her. I am happy to hear that she's married now. Good Luck with the new album.
hi aunt Barbra !!! Its me little Pat Patch please write me back and tell me how every one is !!!!
We just love the Cowsills' music and were so glad to hear about them on Entertainment Tonight! This is real music, and its important for young people today to be able to hear it. Thanks for the great website!!
I'm SO GLAD your're back Always loved the music and now I can appreciate it You've brought back so many memories The new album will be part of my new Cowsills collection wasn't smart enough to keep the old ones!!!!!!!!!
I have been looking for a tape or CD that could have been made from a recording the Cowsills made about a town called Indian Lake. The town Was located in upstate NY in the Adirondack Mountains. I lived there at the time they visited there. Can you help? Thank you Bob Shaw
Where is Barry? I am the biggest Fan and I love barry!!
Was a member of the "Rocking KTR's" in Newport back in 1962. Remember some guy's coming down the street from their house (little more than a celler hole with a tar paper roof) as we practiced. Was hard to believe that 4 years later, I was in Viet Nam and they were on stage. Enjoyed every song. Still have the photo they sent me in Viet Nam. Best of luck. Still trying to keep track of you! Chuck
THANK FOR THE MUSIC IT WAS NICE. WHAT A NICE TIME TO REMEMBER.
Saw you on ET. Looked up the site as soon as it was over. Love your stuff. Love your site. Hope to be able to order the CD soon(I'm a starving student!!).
I just want to tell you guys that Global is GREAT!!!! For all you people thinking of buying the cd, do it. You won't be disappointed.
Great site! I've been checking in since October. Found an old (not in age) friend from the early Cowsill days, Jo Malone. We've visited and traded stories and she shared her tapes with me. What fun! Felt 13 again. We're looking for two more of our old Philly Crew - Soozie Heil and Joanne Herron. If anyone knows where they are let us know. My e-mail is philliesphan@erols.com Or if Soozie or Joanne are reading this.....let us know. We'd love to get together again!! Love, Connie & Jo
Great Job!
great site well done
I saw the Cowsills at the Dallas State Fair in 1967-I was inthe 9th grade. I've always enjoyed their music and was sad at the events in their lives and family. But it looks like we've all grown up and survived. So great to see you again--was alittle concerned of the bitterness and profanity used on VH1-but then again I'm not you and didn't go through it. The best of luck to you all--
Wow! I was so thrilled to find this site! We just got this computer for Christmas and one day decided to check it out! It was great! I have been a Cowsill fan since 1968 and I'm still a Cowsill fan! I love "Global" I check this site out daily! Thanks for this site I was able to catch you on VH1 !! You guys are great!
i enjoyed this site very much it was nice to see them o vh-1 i love the old songs very much
love globel, smile more john, hope behind the music vh1,does a show on you.cant wait for globel2.
There used to be this girl that lived down here in the Bahamas. I think her name was Sharon Von Zutphin. She used to talk about the Cowsills all the time. Everyone thought she was crazy because no one had heard of the Cowsills. Then after she left, I was surfing the web and I came across this web site. I guess she was more sane than we thought.
I didn't know the Cowsills had a web page until they mentioned it briefly when they were on VH-1. I used to listen to them quite a bit when I was a kid. My favorite Cowsill songs are "The Rain, the Park, and Other Things", and "Love American Style", although the latter got very little, if any, airplay on the radio.
It was greet to see you again!! I Still have all your albums from way back when. I'm glad you all made it to the 90's! Glad your back!
hi there! I missed the VH1 show. My older sister Donna let me in on your web-site ! I am a HUGE fan of the band. Your music still makes me smile when I hear it !!!!!
It's great to see (and hear) the Cowsills are back and that pop/folk music is alive and well and RELEVANT today. But now the Cowsills have to tour--at the very least on the summer county fair circuit. Best of luck.
Would like any/all information of performances on the East coast. So sorry to hear that Mrs. Cowsill died. she was great. My 14-year old daughter loves your music. So many hits and I remember you all very fondly. Your upbeat, enthusiastic, positive sounds. ALso, do you have a cowsill button or catalog I can get?
Hi, I remember listening to your music on an album of my father's and I have always loved it. I watched the VH1 special yesterday evening and just wanted to say that I thoroughly enjoed it. Hope all the best things life has to offer come your way.
...only caught a part of the VH1 inteview, but was enough to get this website address. :) It's great, your music is (and was) great--defined a generation. It's hard to believe 30 years have passed, but I still have your albums! Enjoy life, keep making music, and thanks for being one of the "good' memories of that turbulent time...
really liked it. i was a Huge fan in the 70's. still have all the 16 MAG, scrapbooks, every album!!!!!
It was so nice to see you on VH1 and to know you are all ok. Sorry your lives weren't what we all were lead to believe, and sorry we never knew until now. You were my first concert and Barry - oh! my first love. Your music bring smiles, tears, and instant regression to my youth. You are all on this earth for a reason... bless you
I think the Cowsills kick serious ass!!!
would like to hear you in wisconsin soon
Finally got that new computer...checking out the site daily-so much to see...my parents didn't understand my thing about the Cowsills "then" and my kids don't understand it "now"-but lots of ya'll out there understand, don't you?!?
your music was a big part of the summer that i was 12. your song Hair still makes me smile,
Great site here! It's thrown me into the wayback machine, causing a frantic search for dramamine.... ;)
sites ok but would rather see you in person, I miss the old songs
i am toally suprised to find that there is a cowsill web sit. im 42 and grew up with their music and pictures all over my walls. it is so neat to see what has become of everyone. i still have all the albums even thought i no longer own a turntable. i,m going to hunt out old concert photos that i have from a concert that was some place down at the jersey shore. would love to hear from other fans. i have just begun to look throught this site. can'twait to see what else is in here.
Seeing this has brought be back to my 13 year old life
I was a sailor stationed in Newport, Rhode Island from 1964 to 1966. I remained in Newport for a few years after my discharge. I used to see the Cowsills perform at a basement club at the old Muenchinger King Hotel in Newport. I also remember going to a place called Dorian's on Thames Street in Newport to see Bill and Bob perform on Sunday night in an "unplugged" format. I have great memories of the Cowsills and still get a special feeling whenever I hear one of their hits on an "oldies" station. Best wishes and good luck to all of you.
I enjoyed seeing you on Vh-1's Where are they now?I enjoyed your website also.Good luck on the new release.Thankyou
Great page! Thank God you're back! The Cowsills ROCK!
Wow! VH1 just took me on a stroll down memory lane...through "the rain, the park, and other things." I saw the Cowsills in '69...my first concert. I still have the program from that show...the silver one profiling each member of the family. Thanks for the music and the memories. Glad to hear that you are recording again. Good Luck!
Too cool! Glad to see you folks doing well, missed you all. PDG
Saw you on VH1-Where are they now? Was not too happy with the interview. You were all my favorites, especially Susan as I loved to sing along with her parts of your songs. I was disappointed to learn that you're lives in many ways were not ultimately continued along the same line that you portrayed as the group. I wish you all luck and hope that you find whatever it is you're looking for....life is too short. Maybe "Global" will bring you some peace. Good luck!
I am 45 years old so obviously I was a Cowsill fan in My youth . Saw the VH1 segment and was glad to hear from you guys again. To see like the rest of us you guys survived the 60's and 70's. Peace.
I just watched the VH1 special for the second time.. its truly a pleasure to see you all back in motion again!! keep up the good work!!
information is great , wish the soundbites were longer , love your music .
I was always wondering what happened to the Cowsills? After checking out this web page now I know. I did know the parents passed away some years ago. Now in 1967 I did meet Barbara, Bob, Barry and Susan walking down Ave of the Americias here in NYC they stopped for us and chatted and gave us their autographs they were such nice people. I remember when they lived here in NYC on 8th Ave, then awhile after they moved to Santa Monica CA. I still have my Cowsill Albums, I thought all of them were very talented and I am glad they are all doing fine. I was just a kid myself and had the biggest crush on John. Boy those were the good old days. I love the web page
What a great surprise when I was flipping thru my cable channels and came across you guys on VH-1. I was jumping up and down so excited. My boyfriend thought I was nuts. I was about 10 -12 yrs old and you guys were my New Kids. I would go crazy. I still have all your albums and Now have gotten them on CD's and listen to you everytime I clean my house (haha) The first time I saw you in person was at the Brockton Fair in Massachusetts and I was right under the stage. I was in heaven. Thanks for the great memories and good to hear you guys are back.
Enjoyed good memories
LOVED YOUR MUSIC WHEN I WAS YOUNG!! WHEN THINGS ARE SLOW NOW I FIND MYSELF SINGING YOUR TUNES, THIRTY YEARS LATER! DALE MCATEER LIKED SEEING YOU ON VH1
Great web site! It brought back some wonderful old memories from the 70's!! The work that's been put into this wite really shows!!! Thanks a lot! :)
You were my first concert (Minnesota State Fair). I loved your music back then and am so excited to discover that I'll be able to hear that wonderful harmony again, wrapped up in some new tunes. Thank you for the music!
Go Go Go ya'll. My sis is not going to believe this when I tell her. I know ya don't remember me when My father was help on the Turtel management team. I was a kid and saw ya in Orange County. I write pop and had a band for a long time, played Indain Lake. Need a song? Keep going and don't go away.
I saw the VH1 special and was very impressed with the interviews and the personal comments made by all the Cowsills. Very impressed! Keep recording!
I happened to be home today and caught the VH1 program, "Where are thet now", which featured the Cowsill family. I was born and raised in Rhode Island and know that you once lived there as well. I still remember how proud we all were of your group's success and to be able to brag that you came from Rhode Island. I've always wondered what became of you and I'm happy to know that you survived those crazy times and that you're still making music. I wish you all the very best in all of your future ventures and hope that you will continue to communicate to us through your music. May God bless each of you and bless you kindly!
I absolutely love the Cowsills! You guys are the best band! My brother and I listen to the 45 of "Hair" I am 16 and my brother is 12! The Cowsills web site is awesome! I love you guys!
You all were a major part of my childhood. We were probably the only black family on in the neighborhood, maybe even in the city, that played your records until they censored near melted on the turntable. Jam on!
I live in Canton, Ohio my Aunt is Phylis Slusser
Hi All, I just saw the VH1 special and it brought back such memories. I'm not sure if you guys would remember me (or my brother and family) but I used to live and the bottom of Mason hill in Newport. I also went to school (Saint Augusitine's). I remember on night you guys came up and picked me up in a limo and went to a local night club (Bambi's) - I don't think I'll ever forget that night ( think I was around 12 or 13). Just recently for Christmas I purchassed off the net some of your CD's for presents for my friends still living in Newport and everyone loved them. It's was good to see that you are all doing so well. Sharon Sutphin (Clark) p.s. I had a brother Tom
I was such a Big fan of the Cowsills growing up! I was 15 when I first heard them and had the BIGGEST crush on Paul!! Its nice to see that they are still around! I was so sorry to hear of there Mother and fathers passing and was surprised to see there mom was living here in Az when she passed away. i hope they will do a reunion show and come to Phx!

Hey Susan. I remember Seeing The Cowsills @ Disneyland when I was a Kid. I really Remember Having a Tremendous Crush On you. Your Still Real Cute. Be good to yourselves.
Loved your music then & still do but is hard to find on CD. Lifelong fan - Scott
I caught the clip on "Where Are They Now" and did not mind having to wait until the last segment to get updated. I enjoyed the Cowsill music in my youth, and The Partridges did NOT even compare! For having such a great sound, it is sad to know that all was not so cheery behind the scenes. There was a lot of bitterness in the adult Cowsills' faces. Congratulations to all of you for having survived .. and with a continued interest in music. Thank you for sharing your story, and thank you for some memorable music. MaryLee
My daughter just got done singing along with a song on T.V. and it reminded me of a Cowsills tune. I hope that everbody knows that some of the the melodies Mr. Cowsill wrote were written while he was in the field in Viet Nam. Thank you Mr. Cowsill. I don't forget. Happy Easter.
Love the site. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one out there that still loves you guys. One question- why no mention of "What is Happy,Baby?" in the discography? That's always been my personal favorite.
Saw VH-1 tonight, was great walking down memory lane and with oldie stations playing those Cowsill classics those memories are never far away. The best to all of you and keep on playing.
Glad to hear your still making music!! Susan, what year were you born in? Just curious. I think we're about the same age. I had some of the Cowsills 45's. Long time ago.
brings back great memories
TALK ABOUT A FLASHBACK. IT WAS GREAT TO SEE ONE OF MY FAVORITE GROUPS AND CATCH UP ON THEIR LIVES!!!
Saw the VH1, thought you were forgotten. Took me back to my youth. I have a couple of your vinyl albums still. Didn't know about anything new, but the web the place to do it! Good luck!
It's about time you guys put out some new material. It's been a long time coming. Welcome back.
Hello, I was so glad to see you all on VH1 tonight!! I grew up with you all.I loved your music and still have one of your albums, after all these years. (i couldn't stand to part with it)...lol Best of luck to each and everyone of you!!
It was fun going down memory lane.
I Loved and still love your music.....I have all your albums except the last one.
I just saw you on VH1. Great to see you are all doing well. I saw you back at the Michigan State Fair. You were my first concert. Your songs are legends. I wish you all the best and thanks for the music
Loved your music as a kid. Glad to see your back. Saw you on VH1 and looked up your web-page.
I just watched the great show on VH1 tonight and I immediately jumped to the website as soon as it was announced! Thank you for going online! I was a big fan of your music when I was growing up and going through the teen years. I did not know that the Partridge Family was based on you guys until tonight. Now, I'm "retroactively impressed" if you can imagine that! This is fantastic to be able to communicate with you now...keep up the great work!
You are and will always be my favorite group, please keep up all the good work, and nice site, and God Bless!
I just saw you on VH1 and couldn't believe it! It was like going back in time! Glad to hear that you are recording again! I will have to check out Global! By the way, your All Time Hits album was the first album I ever bought...and I still have it although I think I practically wore it out in the 60's!!
Some of my best memories have the "soundtrack " of your music included ! I just watched VH1 where are they now and was happy to know that you are again going to bless us with your music ! Thank's ! As soon as I can afford it , I will be online to buy your new c.d. Don't disappear on us again .O.K. ?
Love the Cowsills, way cool! ! ! ! !
That's it! Pickwick's!!!!!!
i am looking for my old cowsill buddy-her name is yvette & i think she lives in nashville-can anyone help me-i can't find her!
i just recently got online & this is the first site i looked up! this is great-love it all!
Hey, saw you guys on VH1! I used to see you guys (Bob & Susan) every week at the British pub on Ventura Bl. (can't remember the name it's been so long...). You guys were/are great! Can't wait to get the CD! Good Luck! P.S. I hate Shirley Jones!
My wife is a big fan of your harmonies. She remembers your music from her childhood and although I do not remember your performances specifically, I do remember your music. We thoroughly enjoyed the piece on Where Are They Now? on VH1, it was very informative. Rock on!
I enjoyed this site very much. keep up the great work
Hey everyone! I love the Cowsills and hope they hit the charts with Global!!!
Saw the VH! special the other night and checked this out. Great to see youre all healthy. First concert I ever saw was the Cowsills in the summer of 1968 in Manchester NH..I save everything and still have the pix. Next time Im in New Orleans Ill check out Susan and the band--Vicki Petersen too Great guitarist Favorite song: Path of Love- still holds true after all these years
Always loved listening to the cowsills when I was a kid in Houston, Texas, still listening to them on 97.3 fm here in Alaska, your music is fun and my Nephews love it also. Wow and last night there you were on VH1 Fantastic!!!
Who says TIME TRAVLE isnt possiable? Every time I hear these songs I go back in time...and dont want to come back. Thanks for the trip...then and now!!
As I was channel surfing March 30, I happened to see the VH-1 special. I have been wondering for so many years what became of all The Cowsills. One of my fondest memories of my early teens is seeing them at Lakeside, Ohio and being able to talk with them and get all of their autographs. I still have them. I had such a crush on JOHN!! Nice to see that you are singing again!!
WHERE ARE THEY NOW? WAS GREAT. FINDING OUT ABOUT GLOBAL AND THIS WEBSITE IS REALLY EXCITING. GO COWSILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I caught the VH1 program last night and enjoyed the update. I have to say that "Indian Lake" has got to be one of my all time favorite 60's tunes, it's a good song in the truest sense of the word- those harmonies!! I first remember hearing it while traveling with my dad as a 9 or 10yr old kid, sitting in his lap lap while steering the car down those long straight North Dakota highways, thinking that there could be an "Indian Lake" somewhere nearby.I hope you were able to capture the feel for your new release, as you had when recording the old songs.
Oh My God!!!! I can't believe your back!!! Thanks for the fond memories of the late 60's.
I watched VH1 last night and boy did it bring back a lot of good memories. John is my favorite and he's as handsome as ever. I wish I could some photo of him and the others.
Wow....Another album...I mean CD! Cool! Thats great! I ALWAYS sing to myself "HAIR" Gimme a head with hair...long beautiful hair.......You see I suffer with TRICHOTILLOMANIA. Trichotillomania is where we pull our own hair out. NOT THAT WE WANT TO! We dont! Its like OCD. But Anyway Your song HAIR has kept me going. Keep up the good work!
interesting. the "where are they now" segment was also interesting. query. what exactly have all of the cowsills been doing in the intervening years? did they have real jobs? did any of them get any type of education? they still sound pretty good. i wish them great success.
I saw the "where are they now" on VH1 and was so glad to see you all doing ok. We grew up with you and enjoyed your music and i have even spoken with my children about you and your music. If you are ever in Missouri look me up and be my guest to take in a Royals game or something fun....Your friend ...Howard
I watched the VH1 special tonite to see BARRY COWSILL and he wasn"t profiled! I was so dissapointed. In 1967 I was 10 years old and SO in love with him. I remember " The rain, the park.." like it was yesterday. I have been enjoying this site , and when I saw the recent pic of Barry...I fell in love all over again!!! My best to you all!! tHANKS, ~Jill
Hi guys. I caught the clip on VH-1 tonight, as did many others who are posting on this site. I saw you perform in 1990, in Chicago, at a Monkees fan convention. Not only did you sound good, you were funny as censored!
John is a good friend and he ROCKS!
Saw the family on VH1 tonight. Enjoyed the update. Glad to know you are working together again and still releasing great music. A high light of my teenage years was seeing the Cowsills at the Phoenix Memorial Coliseum in, I guess it was 1969. One of the most entertaining concerts I've ever seen. Welcome back to the "limelight." It's good your here!!!!!!!!
Use Quicktime instead of MoviePlayer. The site is nicely designed. Saw you folks on VH-1 on 3/30 (tonight).
I bought a jukebox a couple of years ago, and the 45 that I have been looking for every since is "The Rain, the Park, and other Things. Do you have any idea where I could find a copy of it? I have checked with friends, watched garage sales, etc. and can't locate a copy. I would love to be able to find one. Any help would be appreciated.
Hi, Watched "Where are they now" and remembered your group fondly. The Rain, the Park and other Things is truly worthy of that overused term "classic". Seriously, a beautiful song:) Will stop in again and look forward to listening to your newest creations. The very best of luck to you. Harmoniously yours, Melissa
Wow! I remeber getting a Cowsills drum set for Christmas one year- it was the greatest gift I ever got as a child! Thanks for the music!!!!
I love the Cowsills...Hope to see Susan's band in New Orleans in May.
I liked your website and I saw vh1 and it was great to see you singing as family again sounding good!!!
I've had fun cruising around your website. I was made aware of "Global" by Alan Haber, host of the coolest Pop on the internet. I had heard "Is It Any Wonder?" on Yellow Pills and was astounded! "Global" fulfills the promise of "Wonder" in spades. I can't wait for the next installment!
I remember back before the Cowsills ever cut a record how good they were. Billy singing "Baby Blue" and John singing "My Hillbilly Baby" comes to mind. They've come a long way since those wonderful days when they were just short of being babies, and I was "uncle Bobby" .....sigh.....Those were the days.
I have made this site my home page. I think it is the best site I've run across. It has loads of information, and is easy to navigate. I really enjoy it. Keep up the good work!!
I'm pretty young (14)and I heard the song 'Hair' for the first time about 2 years ago on the Simpsons show (episode 3g03 (simpsonscalifragilisticexpiala(annoyed grunt (d'oh))cious) and aabf02 (D'oh!in' in the wind)). I loved it! This song is fabulous! Mud
watched Billy Cowsill in "Blue Northern" band here in Vancouver, very kewl, beatles/country cross
The Rain the Park and Other things is still one of the all time greatest songs ever. Spectacular production for the time. Great Site.......
The Cowsills are among the best memories of my teen years in the 60's and early 70's. We all went through a lot of good and bad times back then; thanks for the memories of the good times!
I recently bought Global. It is a great recording. It demonstrates the importance of distribution and marketing, because it is so much better than a lot of the stuff being hyped these days, but you don't hear it on the radio around here. Keep up the good work. I look forward anxiously to another recording. By the way, I love Susan's vocals. Does anyone know of projects (besides the Continental Drifters- got them) that I can purchase with her as lead vocalist?
Hi all Cowsills fans. This is my second posting to the guestbook. My wife recently started a job with Excel Communications, a long distance carrier. When we got our e-mail one night I noticed RCowsill Etc. I asked my wife if she knew if it was Richard Cowsill. At the time she did not know. So she had one of her meetings in Provodence, RI. She came home and you know what, it is Richard. My wife has set it up for me to meet him within the next couple of weeks. My wife was told at the time she met him for us to check the local listing (TV)The Cowsills are going to be on VH1 Where are They Now? Also, he hinted there is to be a new CD sometime this year. I will let everybody know as soon as I find out. If you want to e-mail me at any time I will gladly talk to you. Please do not ask me what his e-mail is for I am asked not to tell. It is for his business only.
Cool site! Good to talk to ya today, Bob. Stay in touch!
Anyone who enjoyed the music of the Cowsills in the 60's has GOT to get the new Global CD. "Some Good Years" has the most beautiful harmonies I've heard in decades. "She Said To Me" sounds great too. I'd love to see these songs performed live - any chance? As someone who spent hours listening to Cowsill Albums - I've really enjoyed be brought up to date on the group - and am just blown away with how good the new album is. LTB
Songs like "The Rain, The Park, and Other Things" are classics. It's a good thing that we can still listen to them on classic rock stations, because what's currently popular just doesn't have much appeal to me. Anybody else out there who is of a like mind?
" HAIR " is MY ANTHEM and I THANK YOU!
This is just too cool. The Cowsills were my life for so many years. I still celebrate all their birthdays and even remember their middle names! I still have a bottle of water from 1970 when Barry touched my hand and I washed that hand and saved the water...only a true fan would understand that. I am thrilled to find this web site and guess I will be forced to buy my own computer now!!!
I drive my step-kids nuts singing Cowsill songs all the time. Feel free to visit our site.
Awesome.....I never thought I would find the "COWSILLS" on the web! I love them so much. I was 12 when they hit the music scene and I played their albums over and over. I used to pretend like I was the other half of a duet signing, "Path of Love". Crazy about that song. Sorry to hear about Mom Cowsill. She was awesome in the group too. Definitely will keep in contact with this website. :)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOHN! ISN'T IT AMAZING THE THINGS THE MIND CHOOSES TO REMEMBER?!
THIS IS REALLY COOL!!!
Hello! I wonder if anybody reading this has the 2 promotional video clips to "Hair" and "The Rain, The Park, & Other Things"? I know they defintley exist.
What a great site! Brings back so many memories of my youth. My brother was so in love with Susan. I remember seeing the Cowsills in concert in the early 70's on Halloween night and during intermission Susan went halloweeing to a couple of houses. After the show the family walked around and my brother (who wasn't at the concert) came with my parents to pick me up and followed Susan around with a "puppy dog" crush look on his face. A fun evening. Keep up the good work!
I have enjoyed going to the good old days, of my pre and post teen years. I have often wondered about the family. I have looked for a web site of the cowsills and I found it when I wasnt lookin. This is good cant wait to check into it again
Saw Billy do a show last night. Fantastic!
great music
I am looking for the MIDI of The Rain The Part and Other Things by the Cowsills, PLEASE PLEASE email it to me if you see this and you have it!
great webpage.......brings back great memories
Keep on keeping on!
Oh. My. God. I can't believe there's a Cowsills website--how WONDERFUL. I first met you on July 29, 1968 in Colonie, New York. My goofy friends and I were steadfast fans, and I remain so. What a treat to come across photos (some of which I HAD), and walk down Memory Lane. You people were IT to my friends and I--and, most important, you weren't aloof or standoffish. As ridiculously Teen-Aged-Girls as we were, you were always patient and nice to us. I was considered "sacred" in my group, because John and I share the EXACT same birthday: March 2, 1956 (what time, John?; I always wondered if I was younger or older. I was born at 9:42AM.) Anyway, thank you SO much for the terrific Website! My only regret is that, five years ago while moving, I left the box with ALL my Cowsills stuff-every bit of it-records, photo albums, autographs, pilfered treasures--on the front step of my new apartment. ONE MINUTE later, when I went out there--the whole box was gone. In one minute of meanness, someone stole a lifetime of great memories. Sigh. Ah, well, you're still around, and I'm glad! I don't know whether you all want other info on your fams, but here's mine: Marion E. Altieri (Rosie), P.O. Box 804, Saratoga Springs, New York 12866-0804 Phone: (518) 584-5996 (unlisted; please do not distribute). Any chance I can talk you into gigging in Saratoga (we have a cool Performing Arts Center here!)?? God bless you all! Marion.
im 14 from Iowa.. and i LOVE the Cowsills music.. i only have heard one of their albums, Cowsills in Concert, because thats all my mom has,and i was wondering if i could get some ther rcords someplace??
i was such a fan!!!!!I still have and play my old albums, not cd's, when no one is around!!! I always wanted to marry barry!!!!!! This brings back so many memories for me. I even sat in the first row at a cowsill concert in dayton oh in the 70's. what a rush that was. thanks for giving me back my youth with all the old pictures!!!! go cowsills
This brings back memories. I been a fan for 30 something years. Keep up the good work. Great Site
It's like a trip through time. I was just a young one back in the sixties, but still have vivid memories looking at my older sister's teen magazines. It's enjoyable, yet rather strange seeing those old photos. Thanks for the hard work compiling all of this information and pictures. It's amazing how fast time flies by.
My gosh, does this take me back. I was 13 when I fell in love. My first album was the Cowsills in Concert because I wanted a copy of "Hair" which was not available on a 45. I spent many years after that buying everything Cowsill I could find. My room was plastered with their pictures. I especially had a HUGE crush on Barry. I was livid the night my best friend went to see them in St. Louis and actually met John! She had a picture turned into a poster to prove it. I was green with envy! But I'll always have a special place in my heart for Barry. Yes, I remember his birthday....September 14th. I wish him a Happy Birthday wherever he is each year! I just wish my mom hadn't gotten rid of all my old albums! :-(
My first love was John Cowsill. I can't believe you guys are here! I saw them live at Kiel Opera House in St. Louis and at the Illinois State Fair. I haven't thought about the Cowsills in years, but I will be back.
Love The Cowsills! Particularly adore "The Candy Kid" and the "Christmastime" 45 as well as thrilling songs like "Start To Love." Just picked up one of Susan's 1977 solo 45s. I'd be interested in talking with other Cowsills and 60s pop fans.
The first concert I ever saw was a Cowsills concert at the Minnesota State Fair in the early 70's. I was about 11 and went with the daughter of my moms best friend. It was great. I remember the band coming up to the fence after the show and signing authographs. I really miss the innocent times. It's great to see this website. (I really had a huge crush on Susan)
Hi Mary & Bob, What a great WEB site! We are really impressed. I hope everything goes great for you. Hi Ryan, Courtney and Marissa. We miss you guys. We need to get together soon. Love, Sherry & Fred
Really enjoyed seeing the old clips and reading all the information you had on your web site. Don't know what made me look up your names. Just felt like getting a "blast from the past"..Believe it or not, I was in your fan club, many years ago. Had an incredible crush on Barry. Thanks for letting me share a part of your life!
The first time I ever heard of the Cowsills I was 7; it was 1972 and my sister was getting married. I of course was the flower girl and my sister requested the song for me and till this day I love the song I lovingly referred to as "The Flower Girl Song" later I found out that the song was called the Rain the Park and other things *S* It was great that I came across this site as I was looking to the words and music from the song *S* thanks
I cannot tell you enough how much fun this has been - I will visit again and I will visit often. Several years ago there was an article about the Cowsills in one of the music mags (Rolling Stone ? Spin?)- I spent days trying to find out anything I could about a new recording and even spoke on the phone with the writer of the article (I was a music retailer). It's good to know that you are here. thanks so much !
When I was 20 and a sophomore at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas in 1970, I introduced The Cowsills before a live crowd about 20,000 screaming fans at Ahearn Fieldhouse on the KSU campus. I was scared out of my bell bottoms. But evidentally Bud Cowsill thought I was pretty good , I guess and offered me a job touring with the group as their opening annoucner and warm up guy. I told him my folks would kill me if I quit school and went on the road with a rock group. Along with not attending the original Woodstock, I regret that missed opportunity. I will never forget The Cowsills or that night talking backstage with the whole gang before they went on. Oh the innocence. I miss it and everyone of you guys. It would be great to hear from any of The Cowsills or anyone at that concert. I leave you with fondness and lots of flower power love!
The first record I ever bought was a Cowsills album. I still have it; and despite rapidly changing technology, we have held on to our turntable and can still play it. I accessed this web site to find out "what ever happened to ..." and was surprised to discover that you were still performing into the 90's. Best wishes.
I used to love the Cowsills growing up in the late 60's and early 70's and always wondered what happened to them. This info is great!
I heard your music on the radio today and had to look you'll up, glad i found you'll thanks for the great memories! I miss the 60's
GOT TO MEET BOB AT PICKWICK'S PUB LAST SATURDAY. HIS SHOW WAS GREAT,SINGING AWESOME, AND MY BROTHER BOB AND I EVEN SANG ALONG ON SOME GREAT SONGS. BOB IS A GREAT TALENT AND HIS GROUP'S CD GLOBAL IS THEIR ALLTIME BEST. CONTINUED SUCCESS. HOPE TO SEE YOU ON DONNY AND MARIE.
I've been a closet Cowsill fan for about 30 years, people tend to ridicule or say who? My older brother was the worst, and my friends were not much better. I felt sorry for people who wouldn't even listen to this wonderfully talented family! I still have all my albums, and listen to them from time to time. My all time favorite is,Grey Sunny Day, Such wonderful blending of voices! I wish I could find some of the old albums on CD,anyone out there know where I could get some? This,by the way is an awesome Web site,Ireally didn't think there would be one when I took a chance to look. THANK YOU! I'll return often! Jane
I wanted to be The first to sign The book in 1999! Happy New Year!!
