My beloved grandparents took me to Atlantic City, NJ when I was a kid. Just passed my 49th birthday. I heard "The Rain, the Park and other Things" on TV and it made me think of the grandparents I miss so much. What a pretty song. So glad I looked up the Cowsills on the Internet. Glad to hear they are all well.

Hi Guys, My family and I are a blast from the past!!! Heard on the radio today that it was Bob's Birthday. Happy Birthday. If you haven't figured it out yet, we grew up in Naval housing in Newport RI. My dad's company leased your family cars when you went on the road, Pont Bonneville wagons as I recall. How are all of you doing? Great I hope. All of us have stayed pretty much in the Maryland area. My brother Mike is in Oklahoma, the rest are in Maryland. Please email me if you are ever in this area or close by. I would love to see you again and do some catching up on familes, etc. Best of everything to all of you. Nancy Jenkins Macker

Hi Bob, Just looking at your schedule ... boy, you're workin' hard. I thought I'd drop a line. I've been busy with family and band so it's been difficult to come see you at the pub. I'll try to stop by and say hey to the gang at the pub before the year ends. Hope the your family is doing great .. say hey to them for me. See you soon, Robel
Last weekend was a lot of great fun even though we had to cram equipment into my van at the last minute to get there. Just wanted to let you know I have the master copy of the video of our shows done. I'm getting them reproduced so they don't lose quality and it came out pretty good. I'll be getting in touch with Richard as soon as I get the copies back. Laurene (my wife) did the filming for us. Thanks for the fun time. Tom
Bob, It was wonderful seeing you last sunday in Newport,33 years is a long time, you and all the COWSILLS still sound great. maybe see you next year,Thanks for remembering me, after all these years, always Kathy.
This past weeekend I got to see Bob in Newport and sadly missed seeing Bill who I understand has a back problem. Bill and I collaborated on some fun times in the 60's and I do so hope to talk to him again sometime. God Bless ALL of you and thanks for the memories!!!
Hi, I went to see the "Cowsills" in Newport over the weekend. (Sunday afternoon) at Taste of Rhode Island. I wish that they had played more of their old material. They were TOPS at what they did. They should never be ashamed of that. Those songs will live with us forever. The new songs are fine but they defnitely don't mean the same. It is my understanding that they (the Coswill's) do not get together to preform that frequently....WHY???? I know that they all live far apart but again...they were soooooooooo good at what they did...why not just go with it. It's not an age thing with them. They are a family and NOONE can take that away from them. Also, noone can ever take their talent away from them. They do perfect harmony, they are "n sync" (oh excuse me)..ha ha... Wish they would do more. Thanks for the great memories in Newport this past weekend. I went with my 9 year old daughter. She didn't know who the Cowsills were or what they were about. I plan to show her the website etc...Thank you. Remember, noone has a perfect life unfortunately. Noone. It's how we handle all that has been given to us...the good and the bad. G-d bless.
Looking forward to seeing you all again and sharing the stage with you next week. Tom (4-Play percussionist)
I am a 46 year old male and live in Auckland, New Zealand. I grew up listening to and loving your music. I think Barbara singing "The Cruel War" is one of the finest tracks ever recorded by any singer. It never fails to move me. My record is worn out - I just wish I could get it on CD.
After years of wondering what happened to the Cowsills, it (finally) occurred to me to use the Internet to find out. I am tickled that you are out there, interested in keeping in touch with your fans. Saw you at the Michigan State Fair in the 60's, and will see you next year in Newport (if you do it again!). BTW, having been to Newport in the last decade, and not knowing that you were out there, would you consider putting up a billboard that says 'Welcome to Cowsills Country'? Peace to you all.
«THE COWSILLS» WERE VERY POPULAR IN 60´S IN MOZAMBIQUE (PORTUGUESE AFRICA) AND SOUTH AFRICA. «THE RAIN, THE PARK AND OTHER THINGS» AND «HAIR» WERE NUMBER ONE. NO PROBLEM WITH «INDIAN LAKE»!! THANK YOU FOREVER
Cowsills! So glad I found your page. My career in radio was partly inspired by meeting you at Macy's in NYC somwehere around 1967 with Cousin Brucie! I got to interview Bob on the air in 1986 and talked to Susan recently from a station in NJ. Would love to have you guys on the air again. Thanks for all the music and the memories!
I miss my picture sleeve 45 rpm of "The Rain, The Park.... Is it in bad form to ask who does the vocals for the Claritin ad? My friend swears it's Jose Feliciano. Hope you're all well!
I remember seeing the Cowsills at the Michigan State Fair years ago. I got to meet them and they were great! I was a HUGE John fan. I could'nt eat for a week after so Mom sent Barbara a letter and she sent a package with autographed pics from them all and a very nice personal letter. I am so thrilled to visit your site often and not only hear the old songs, but the new songs as well.
Hi, I was sitting down with some friends a while back talking of yester years... Music; as usual; came up and I had this song pop into my head. "Flower Girl" Then I heard it again on the radio about a week later. I realized how much I loved that song when I heard it again. Wonderful stuff... Question: Were any f the band memebers in Vancouver around 1980-1983 ? I used to do banking on Arbutus street (Royal Bank) and I swear that I saw Billy there doing some banking. Possible ? Anyways, thanks for the memories !!
I did a search on "The Cowsills" thinking there would be no current information and to my surprise found this web site! How awesome! At one time in my teen years I had all the albums and saved tons of pictures from magazines. I even had the milk song on a 45....not sure where all that went to. Those were fun memories. Just wanted to say hello to the Cowsill family. I enjoyed your music and think its awesome you are still using your gifts and talents today. I recall once getting back stage when you came to the Minnesota State Fair in the 1970's. I was so excited. I was with some of my girlfriends. We managed to talk a guard into letting us go back stage. We caught you getting into a station wagon. We waved and you had to leave. Blessings to you all. Carrie
Hi Mary & Bob, Just heard from David Cullen that John is coming to Sydney in October touring with the Beach Boys. We will all be going up to the Hunter Valley to see them in October but would love to see John for dinner if he has time while in Sydney. Are you coming too? I wish. How are you all? Miss you lots. Love Anne
I am happy that the Cowsills are still doing music! They were a HUGE part of my life, growing up in Rhode Island. I look forward to bringing my daughter to see them in September in Newport. A very BIG HELLO to Barry, who helped me and Jodi with the "Hollywood All Star Baseball Team" in Los Angeles, Calif. back in the 80's.
Hey great music guys! I first heard Indian Lake in an old 45 jukebox in a smalltown bar in Indian Lake, NY...just wondering where the Indian Lake is in the song...be great if someone would let me know....Gary.
Being a large fan of R&B all of my life, the Cowsills didn't quite fit the criteria of music that I would normally listen to! But I DO know good music and perfect harmony when I hear it! My friends couldn't quite grasp my love for Indian Lake, and The rain, the park and other things, but my 10 year old daughter, (who's taste in music varies from Hip Hop to classical, loves to harminize along with me on the Cowsill songs! The best of luck to this very talented family in all future endevors!
I am a playwright, run a theater here in Dallas, and I had two Barry loves in my youth- Cowsill and Manilow - I put obscure references to both in all of my plays....and before I perform on stage I sing "We Can Fly" all the way to the theater. It's silly, but I've been doing it for 30 years and it brings me luck.
Great site! Between 1984 and 1987 when I lived in L.A., I was a one in a group of friends that included Susan (although I didn't know Susan well), Debbie and Clay Rose, and Willis Collier. I have been searching for Clay for some time, and I wonder if you might be able to help me get in touch with him. Thanks so much for any help you can give me.
AS A NATIVE RHODE ISLANDER,I STILL GET BACK THERE TO SEE FAMILY,FRIENDS,AND PLAY MY OWN MUSIC AT CLUBS,FESTS,ETC. LOOKING FORWARD TO MY OLD STOMPING GROUND OF NEWPORT IN SEPT. SEE YAH THERE! S.B.
My sister Linda and I went to high school with the Cowsills in Middletown, RI. I have saved a lot of old pictures from those days. I hope all remains well with each of you. DrClydeM
My brother and I grew up in New Mexico listening to your music. He was more of an Indian Lake type, but for me I'm your Rain, the Park, and other things type guy.. Your music still makes me smill today. Thanks for the memories.
John , contact us if you read this.Ya'll are due in Portsouth at the end of June. We would love to see you again, and give you some pictures. CONGRATULATIONS
I saw your family play in the late 1960's in Corpus Christi, Texas. I was probably 11 or 12. It was the highlight of my life at the time. I had my picture made with ya'll and was on cloud nine. Just a memory. But loved your music.
Wishing the Cowsills a fun summer!!! Also one of my favorite Cowsill songs is "I Really Want To Know You" Are Barbara Cowsill vocals double tracked on that song?
I remember,as a young girl, sending in a photo and letter as an entry to win a date with Barry. I knew I didn't have a chance, but I held on to the dream. Many years later, Barry was performing in New Orleans, my home town. I didn't get a chance to see him them. I hope some day he returns, this time I will take the time to introduce myself and show him what he missed.
Wow! I had no idea there was this sort of activity for the Cowsills! I enjoyed their music in the late '60s and early '70s and was shopping around for a "Best of" CD on eBay when I stumbled onto this. Great site! I had no idea Barbara was gone (1985!); it was almost like losing a family member and I never even met her. Great job; great group and keep this site alive!
So glad to be enjoying your music once again. John, I would love to see you and the Beach Boys. Maybe you will make it to the bay area sometime and I'll get to see ya and catch that killer smile of yours. Take care all of you
Dear John, as you can see, I am writing to you from Germany. I've met you at different concerts with Ethan Reilly, Randell Kirsch and "The Boys" some years ago here in Bavaria. You have been very nice and I really enjoyed listening to your beautiful voice which I never forgot. By chance I found your Homepage so I wanted to tell you that you're having a great fan even in Germany!!! Take care, many lovely greetings, Elke

I found this 4 track reel in a house I purchased a few years ago. I kept it. I recently found it again and asked my older sister if she remembered the Cowsills. She told be she did and so did I but I was only 9 years old then. After doing research on the net I remembered the songs. Anyways I have this 4 track reel in the original box. It looks like it is in perfect condition inside. I cannot find any info on this reel or what it could be worth? It is The Best of the Cowsills Ampex #4597 MGX 3 3/4 IPS Stereo. Any Information would be helpful.
I love all of your songs, ESPECIALLY these songs: Hold On Tight If You Gotta Go (Go Now) Reach Out, I'll Be There Peace, Love and Light, Jer
