I check this website all the time. They haven't given an update in nearly two months. Hopefully Barry will be found soon. I still think the guy I wrote you all about had a great liking to Barry - from La.- was very upset - had a FEMA card, etc.. I'm sure you followed up on that - hopefully. He has to be out there somewhere - he called Susan, so we know he made it through that whole mess. It would be great to bring in the New Year with news he was found safe. G.R.The NEWS page here at Cowsill.com is updated whenever there is anything new about the search for Barry. It was updated six times in November and twice in December so there have definitely been updates more recently than two months ago.
I wish all of you a safe, happy, and healthy new year. I will light a candle for Barry. I hope you have good news about him soon. I firmly believe someone out there knows something of his whereabouts. Barry, if you should see this.......please phone home!
In cleaning my small appartment I now live in as a result of Hurricane Katrina, I found a disc of favorite songs of mine, recorded in 1998, and began playing it as I worked. Among the really great vocal classics on the CD (from artists such as Vicky Carr, Sonny & Cher, The Vogues, The Byrds, Eternity's Children) was that Cowsill classic, "The Rain, the Park, & Other Things." I stopped what I was doing and remembered my own "Flower Girl" encounter, in Carmel, CA, circa 1982. I remembered how beautiful this girl was when I first saw her selling flowers on the street, how she put a lightness in my heart just by casting her smile my way, how I extended my sojourn an extra day or two just to catch up with her, and finally, like the song, how she eluded me in the end. I always loved this song not only for its pure innocence and joy, but also for its harmonious description of my own experience so long ago. I'll always love the Flower Girl, even if she was just a dream to me. Thank you, Cowsills, and may God Bless your missing brother. John
Hey,there... I am 31 years old,and am a drummer(and a musician,too-lol!I also play guitar)from Florida.Since I grew up in such a diverse music-loving household,My appreciative appitite for most kinds o music is one that was drilled into me from an early age;I was alway told ya gotta love it all! And indeed I do.The kind of unapologetically sunny, unabashed feel-good 60's pop as produced by bands such as the Cowsills factors just as heavily as anything else in my musical diet. My fave Cowsills song would have to be,hands down "The Rain,The Park and other things",thought I never did care for "Indian Lake". I also have an original vinyl copy of the "We Can Fly" album, which I was ecstatic to find at my local goodwill store not too long ago. To this day,I do not regret making it an addition of my sprawling lp collection.Among the deep cuts on that album,my fave is "Heaven Held". Also,in any event,It does the heart, soul and mind a world of good in seeing that you guys are still at it. In fact,I didn't know until very recently that you guys were used as the basis of creation for the Partridge Family, and after I listened again to "We Can Fly",an epihany occured, and I ditched my old Partridge Family vinyl-After all,why settle for prefab copycats when the real thing is still out there kickin major bootay!!!!!!
I hope you find Barry soon. I got to know him for about 5 hours when my old company hired him to provide the entertainment at a sales meeting in Marathon Florida about 15 years ago. I really enjoyed singing along to his music, even though we couldn't convince him to sing any of the Cowsills songs. may God bless you all.
Wishing the Cowsill Family a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year. My prayers are with you that you find Barry safe and sound soon :)
Hello :) so pleased to see John with the Beach Boys in MD on Dec 14th.. awesome concert! Met John and have pics of the Cowsills concert in 1968 at Delaware State Fair in Harrington. We were able to meet all of you backstage. Keeping your family in our prayers.

I´m from México, but all my life I have ejoyed the music from the states, I´m amazing about the missing of Barry. I like too much Tha park, the rain and other things, Regards.
Man, I'm gonna lay it on ya straight, ok? I heard (your) tune 'hair' back (lord) in the early 70's...and, I really thought it was incredible...like, man...it was me! Now, I can lay it on ya straight, y'dig? I didn't really flip because (yep) it was like a family set-up...(Barry, lissen-up)...I am so appreciative of that work (Hair)...it is like a big (large) dose of what it was (is)...America...Freedom...and your entire fabric, man, back then and now...is a remedy to any and everything that oppresses people...(why replace it?) That is one great work. I like listening to it with headphones...God Bless!
loved your music, sorry about barry.
Happy Holidays to the Cowsill Family. My prayers are with you that you will find Barry. I had a younger brother named Barry. Loved your music and still do!
I was having some computer problems so I hope that my Christmas greeting made it to the web site. If not here is wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and the best and happiest of New Years!
Originally, I'm a New Yorker but live in Vegas now. I surf the web for "past/old" rock groups and pop music. I really like the Cowsills when I was a kid. Thanks for your webstie. Brenda-Lee
I heard Susan is looking for memorabelia to replace things she lost in the hurricane. I do have some things I would like to send. Where do I send them to? I loved the Cowsills when I was growing up and still listen to the music now. It always brightens my mood! Loved seeing the Cowsills at Fenway Park,As I grew up in Boston.
Love your music! Brings me back to some great times! Thanks! I hope and pray that you find your brother; Barry. Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to all here at Cowsill.com. Hope we all hear from Barry soon. Peace!
I must have put out,hug up,nailed up,stapled on, must have seem to be thousands of flyers when your band played at Rhein Main AFB in Germany. You played at the theater and the NCO Club. My dad had alot to do with you all being there.I think it was 1970. I was about 13 at that time. All I know I was a pretty tired kid after passing out all those flyers. My dad made me do it.It was my first consertand it was grate. Thank you so very much for the music and the memories. A Fan
I've always enjoyed the guestbook entries, but never saw a story like mine. After seeing the family at the Michigan State Fair with my best friend Beth(sitting through two shows of Roy Clark to keep moving closer),I would frequently call the Ann Arbor radio station as "the cowsill girl" and request a song. I told the dj one clue about myself every week and he'd play a Cowsill song for the Cowsill girl. Finally he found out who I was (he was only 2 years older) and I became a groupie at WNRS-WNRZ. Fast forward 17 years...I am a professional musical theatre performer in NYC and I hear a familiar voice on WPLJ. I drop a note and sign it "the Cowsill girl lives". Backstage at my next performance I meet nonother than my old love the dj...who has now become one of the top radio personalities in NYC. We both just shook our heads as we walked down Broadway remembering our youth. Even now whenever I need to get hold of him, all I do is send a "cowsill girl" message. The greatest gift you can give someone is the gift of the innocence of their youth. Your songs and your website do this. Bless you all. P.S. I always hoped to marry Richard...he was the one who needed me most.
HOWDY!!! SUSAN,THANKS SO MUCH FOR CALLING AND SHOCKING MY MOM LAST CHRISTMAS AND ASKING ABOUT HER BACK. PLEASE GET IN TOUCH WITH ME. LOVE YA, DONNA K. DURBIN -HESS

I now live in Elk Grove, CA and attended The Beach Boys concert in Modesto CA back in June and was thrilled to see John with the band. I grew up just down from Mason Hill on Connection street, from you guys in the 60's and 70's and spent a lot of time hanging around Susan and John and watching your rehearsals...The good ole days!!! Just wanted to say HELLO!! Hope all is well!! Tom Raffa
I stumbled across this site while researching the life of my acquaintance, Eddie Starr. I saw several pictures with him on the "Happy Birthday Bob & Richard" page. I'd appreciate it if anyone who knew Eddie would contact me so that I could interview you for my radio program, "The Illinois Labor Hour," broadcast weekly on WEFT-FM, in Champaign, IL. Please reply to laborhour@yahoo.com. Solidarity, BIll Gorrell
I would like some information about when and how long the Cowsills lived in Canton. Thanks for the great site.
I'm Susan's age & remember having a little crush on her when I was a kid watching them on TV. I also formerly briefly resided in Indian Lake, NY, and I learned via the local residents that The Cowsill's song 'Indian Lake' was about that place. I'm just now starting to get re-acquainted with their music.
Wow. Finding this site sure did bring back memories of you guys. Weren't the 60's great?! I loved that era. I'm 51 years old now, but I remember how much I loved your music. You guys were GREAT!!!! Ahhh, life was so good back in those days.......
I had the great surprise of seeing Bob solo acoustic at the Fox & Hounds in Studio City Thursday with a friend of mine. He is a great and engaging performer with a slightly grizzled voice that added weight to the Cowsills portion of the show. I think he was surprised that I yelled out for "We Can Fly"! During the break I had told him my first concert was The Cowsills at the world's fair in 1967 (I was 4, but I remember thinking "I want to do that! And I do!) I will most definitely come back, and I have a new interest in the Cowsills, and will pick up Global. I am a huge 60s fan, and a pop fiend, a BIG Continental Drifters fan, so it's a no brainer! Good Luck to you all!
I was a BIG fan back in the late 60's and early 70's. My room was wallpapered with Cowsill pictures from the teen magazines. I'm so glad I found this site!
Cowsill fan beginning in 1968 -met them x2. Barry was always my favorite although Bobby was the most friendly towards me.
Great website. I remember being about 9 when I got to buy "We Can Fly" at a Sears Roebuck in Albert Lea, MN. I wore the record out years ago. However, the music is still in my mind!!! Hope that Barry is found soon. Prayers to you all
In July 1969 I had a wonderful time watching The Cowsills perform in Atlantic City. I took some great photographs of the concert with my Kodak Instamatic camera, and I still have the photos. Barry will be found. God bless.
Hi there, I have always admired and loved the music you guys made. I believe you should all be inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame. right now I am listening to LOVE AMERICAN STYLE. what a great song. HAIR is also one of my favorites. thank you for all the great music and the fond memories. GOD bless you
We've been around a long time, enjoying your music, not to many people I know have any hair left (pun HaiR) Later, Wayne
My girlfriends and I used to go to Steel Pier in Atlantic City to see our favorite group The Cowsills. One of my friends and I made Susie a pink dotted swiss dress, of which she wore on stage. She made our day by wearing it. I sincerely hope that you find Barry, your loss would be our loss.
Just want to say hello to Billy and the group.I spent time in the hospital with Billy as a roommate. He was very sick at the time and I couldn't talk to him.I am now officialy a cancer survivor but I would like to know how Billy is doing.I listen to your music often. Thanks for the great songs.Take care. Mark Cory Calgary,Alberta,Canada
I mey Paul about a year ago without any knowlage of his music past still dont know much but i do know he loves his Red Sox loves baseball in general and sounds like he was an awsome coach for his kids.I thought he was a great guy then and now and we dont even talk music and he rocks.
I was VERY distressed to hear about Barry being missing. I was fortunate enough to meet him, and the rest of the band, when they played in my home town of Jamestown, ND back in October of 1969. Since Barry was the same age as myself, I always identified most strongly with him. After I actually saw them in concert, I almost got fired from my job as a radio DJ, for playing cuts from their live album so often. I fact, despite the fact that I worked for several years after college as a road manager and lighting designer (Little River Band, Foreigner, Alice Cooper and others), I maintain to this day that the Cowsills were one of the most professional and polished musical acts I have ever seen. Their harmonies were among the tightest I have heard, and in fact, their renditions of Beach Boy tunes sounded better live than the Beach Boys themselves! My prayers go out to the family, and especially to Barry, at this trying time. God Bless.
I was a disc jockey in Los Angeles and was on-hand when the Cowsills were introduced in L.A. back in the late 60's.
Howard Stern just played The Cowsills' live studio version of "Hair" from a few years ago on his show -- it was absolutely awesome! It would be great if everyone got together, recorded an acoustic version and offered it for download on the website!
Hello all Cowsill fans. I'm going to have the opportunity to see John with the Beach Boys Band next Friday as they are coming to Harrisburg. I am very excited. I have such great Cowsill memories. Love, luck and happiness to the Cowsill family and their fans and Happy Thanksgiving.
the cowsills were always my idols had pictures of john and barry up on walls. miss the old days
please barry call debby in houston, texas. because of you and your family we have been best friends for 38 or so years also please get in touch with your daughter kerry we all love you
I saw the Cowsills at Berea College in Berea, Ky way back in the early years of their career. My mom worked for a newspaper and we came to the show. Bob was my favorite then and he was so friendly. All of them were. Susan had a little black dog with her,. I think its name was Subar if I recall right. Named after her and her mom. I'm pretty sure I got this remembered right. I love this site. Good by for now and I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving. God Bless!
Hello all Cowsills. Just want to thank you all for such wonderful music. I've been a fan since the 60's. They were wonderful carefree years. I want you all to know that Barry is in my thoughts and prayers and hope he is found safe. Do you think he could have ended up at that rehab center he was to go to? Wish I could look for him myself. Back in the day, he was the one I was in love with. My heart grieves for him. I wish all you Cowsills would come sing in Williamsport, sometime. You're the best! Bless you all. Kathy
I pray that your family finds peace and your painful separation from Barry meets a positive resolution. God Bless your families. Eddie
I love the group's diversity in music from "We can fly" to the Bible-oriented song which kept saying "six is the number of a man" from 1970; sorry, I can't remember the title.
I just wanted to share a quick story about one of your most famous songs. Back in 1967, when I was just six years old on Long Island, New York, I was walking between my best friend's house and a neighbor's house. As I passed, I heard the song The Rain, The Park and Other Things coming from the basement of the neighbor's house. I froze in my tracks. "What was this incredible song?," I thought. Then, I realized it must be that the neighbor's children had formed a pop group and were playing their new song in their basement. Later, I realized I was mistaken when I heard the song on the radio. Unfortunately, it wasn't until 1981 when, after many years of searching, I finally found out who sang this wonderful song. Thank you for giving me such a fond memory. That song remains as my all-time favorite song.
Hi Cowsills, and all other fans from Kiwiland love your music
I hope you find Barry safe & well. God Bless you. I am involved in a benefit for musicians affected by Katrina. WXPN radio & World Cafe' Live in Philly. www.wxpn.org . Benefit is Wed Nov 2 we hope to raise over $3,000.
Hi all. I am still praying for Barry to show up at a family member's home. I
Hello COWSILL family! When I was on 50,000 watt clear channel WFAA-820 in Dallas from 1967-68, the COWSILLS were new and hot. My show was heard over 38 states. Remember playing The Rain, The Park and Other Things when it was brand new. I have been a DJ here in Texas since 1964. Saw SUSAN COWSILL on SCARBOROUGH COUNTRY Friday night, October 28, 2005. That's when the news came out about BARRY's disappearance. This really hit home because the COWSILLS have always been one of my favotite singing groups. My radio-TV Web column, JIM ROSE Remembers Radio, will have a feature story about BARRY on Monday. Sure do want to find out when BARRY shows up. My prayers are with the COWSILL Family. BARRY will come back home in great health. Jim Rose, Houston, Texas
I love the Cowsill music. I sure hope and pray you find your brother soon. Keep up the good work.
First of all, prayers for finding Barry and that both he and Susan recover from the hurricane as quickly and and as best as possible. The Cowsill's music will forever be in my heart and I hope to discover their latest and see them should they come to the Chicago area. Of course, being just a boy in the 60's, Susan will always have a special place and I hope she is doing well. I'm so sorry for the loss of the Cowsill's parents and wish the family much success in the future. Thanks for many, many great moments. Rick
I saw the news story on Scarboro tonight and wow did it bring back some serious memories. I lived in Newport Rhode Island as a young girl and we always went to the house on the hill to listen to the Cowsills play. My dad was stationed there at the time and it is the home to some of my absolute best memories. My sister and our friends, the Millington's would go and sit on the lawn every chance we got. We even had pictures at one time that have been long lost during a military move. I hope someone finds Barry soon. Sandy Pauwels

My prayers are with your family for the safe reunion of your family. Your album was the first I ever owned. I still have it and still play it. Your music always brings good memories to mind. My grandbabies are even starting to pickup the tunes and words as they have heard it so often.
While living with my Aunt Teenie and Uncle Harold in Waverly Nebraska around 1970 my cousin Steve introduced me,my brother Billy and sisters Pam,Paula and Beth Ann to The Cowsills albums. We wore the needle out singing to those songs in the basement and as all young girls do,my sisters had crushes on various members.I saw a special on VH1 recently,I believe it was Behind the Scenes, and it brought back some wonderful memories.I know you have had hard times but the love your family has shown for each other has gotten you through them.I have heard some of your songs in different movies over the past few years and always smile and sing along.Thank you for being such a positive influence on your fans during your career and I wish bands of today could be the same way.You went out of your way to meet your fans at concerts and that is pure CLASS.I am praying for the safe return of Barry and may God Bless your family.
Hi Miranda, I just saw that you signed the guestbook, so I wanted to say hi. How are you doing? How is school going? We are working very hard to find your uncle Barry. Keep on praying and believing ok? :) *******HUGS************ Lauren

GLAD HEAR COWSILLS ARE SINGING AGAIN!!!! BEEN FAN THERES FOR YEARS!!!COME TO NORTHERN CALIF. DO CONCERTS!!!LOVE SUSAN OJLA-SUNNYVALE
My memories of your group have and will always touch my heart. My boyfriend at the time (we were both 18) referred to many of your songs as "ours". He died at age 18 from a tragic drowning; I still can sing your songs in my head and until very recently had the Cowsills album with the cartoon images on the front cover. God bless your family and may Barry come home safely.
Praying for Barry's safe return.
I will be adding your family to my prayers. (for the sfae return of Barry)
SO SORRY TO HEAR THAT YOUR MISSING, WISH YOU COULD BE FOUND! HAVE LOVED YOU FOR OVER 20+ YEARS.
Thank you foe your music it brings great memories of my childhood.
I am keeping Barry in my thoughts and prayers. I pray for his safety and health.
I wish to send you my thoughts and prayers for Barry's safe return. No family should have to go through the trauma of not knowing where their loved ones are.
My prayers are there for Barry's safe return. Your band had a great effect on my life and I have wonderful memories from the 70's of you all. My best and I hope you come to south Florida sometime to appear with Barry. Love, Cyndi

I am very sorry to hear that you still didnt find Barry, Ihope the best for the family and friends.god bless and always in my heart...
Big fan. Interesting family history. You folks were ahead of your time. The real thing. Miss Barbara.
Good luck in finding Barry! I'm sure he'll turn up and he's probably having fun being an average eveyday person lost in the obscurity of confussion from the hurricane. He's probably helping out in a shelter somewhere. I loved the Cowsill's music and wish there had been more of it. What a great period of time and when you think back to that period, the Cowsill's music has to come to mind. Thanks for the tunes guys. God Bless.
the cowsills were one of my fav's. my mother just gave me my old ( and i mean old ) scrapbook and i still have the pics of barry and the band. i wish you good luck in finding barry. he in one of my favorite boys in my old scrapbook and the cowsills were one of my favorite bands back then.
The Cowsills were a part of my youth. I will pray & think good thoughts that Barry will be found soon. I can not imagine how hard it must be for your family to not know what has happened to him. I hope it is a comfort to you to know that so many people are praying for his return.

MY HUSBAND AND I ENJOYED THE PBS SHOW VERY MUCH! WE ESPECIALLY ENJOYED YOUR FAMILY-PAST AND PRESENT. OUR PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU AND YOUR BROTHER FOR A SAFE RETURN. THE GILBERTSONS
My wife and I caught your performance at the PBS taping on Wednesday, Oct. 19. 2005 in Thousand Oaks, CA. We enjoyed ourselves and had a wonderful experience watching the taping of the show. Your vocals and songs were Great! Thanks for the memories.
I saw Bob play with Pete Bunch at Henneseys in Hermosa Beach in the early 80's-they were great-just the two of them and a Linn Drum Machine. I requested "Born on the Bayou"-Pete said they needed another guitar so Bob could play bass. I offereds my services, they accepted, and off we went. I played a Tele and my friends in the audience were amazed-they didn't even know I played. When my jammin' buddies and I get together, we always play "The Rain, the Park, & Other Things" and "Indian Lake". Today I play in two Surf Bands "Mystic Knghts of the Sea" and "The Fabulous Woodies". Playing with Bob and Pete got me interested in playing again. I'm glad I found this website and hope Barry is OK.
Dear Friends: My family had the pleasure of spending a few of our years as Cowsill neighbors. Our father, Leo Smith, worked with your dad while in the navy. My mom, Jenny Smith was a huge fan The Cowsills. My brother and sister and I had the fortune to have been entertained by Bob and Bill while they were "babysitting" us during the Hootenanny days. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you as you attempt to determine the whereabouts of your brother. Warmest regards, Paul Smith.
it's been a long time , i knew you would still be rockin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I remember going to grammar school in Berkeley at the height of the Black Panther Movement. When I kissed my first girl, Janet Culver, "The Rain, The Park and the Other Things," was on the radio. Whenever I hear that song, it brings back a lot of memories. Good luck finding Barry. My prayers are with you.
I am so sorry that barry got stuck in new orleans. i wish everyone would have been more compasionate during hurricane katrina. Not all of us are like the Superdome or the Convinction Center. Please don't let that be your last impression of New Orleans. I had to ride out the storm because my book signing for my first book was on August 27 the Saturday before the storm. We have been here ever since. I am now writing a new book about the storm. However my book this time will be with pictures along with words. I wanted the world to see the smiling faces. I'm so happy you all have a happy ending to your katrina story. God Bless You All!!!!! Donna Teer Duplaisir
Some of my fondest memories as a kid growing up in the sixties and early seventies are of the Cowsills. I used to carry my AM radio around with me all day so I wouldn't miss Hair when it came on. I am so shocked and worried about Barry.I used to be jealous of him because all the girls used to scream for him! My thoughts and prayers go out to you all. I also hope that Bill is feeling better. I continue to collect and listen to your music-Cowsill harmonies are unmistakable and are timeless. Susan, you are one of the finest female vocalists on the planet. Thank you Cowsills for all you have given us over the years. Again, I pray you find Barry. Get well Bill...
Dear Susan, I am the owner of Four Your Eyes which is located at 12452 Venice Boulevard, Venice CA-phone number is 310-306-5400. I have an optical shop that is decorated with hundreds of album covers from the 60's. Several album covers of the Cowsill's. I noticed that in the LA Weekly and on your web site that you are going to singing at McCanes Guitar shop on October 21st. I wish I could go, but I have twin boys who are almost 3 years old which makes it difficult for me to come to the show. I was wondering if you like to come to visit my store and if you could possibly sign one of the album covers. I would like to give you a complementry eye class fram for your time. thank you and hope to hear from you soon! David Hart/fouryoureyes.com(website) (310) 306-5400
I heard about Barry being missing on our local oldies radio station. He is a little bit older than I am and he was my favorite "back in the day." My prayers go out for him and the Cowsill family. I pray that he will be found safe and sound and that Billy makes a complete recovery from his injuries. God bless all of you.
When I heard Barry was missing I was so shocked. I hope and pray that he will be found soon.
I DO pray Barry is well somewhere.
I hope Barry contacts his family soon or just shows u at Bob's home or something.I don't have family who cares where I'm at or if I'm okay. Hope he realizes that he does. He has all us fans too. Praying for his safe return.
Gee, just read about Billy and now Barry is missing? I'm really out of the loop. So sorry to hear the Cowsill family is going through such family hardships. My prayers and thoughts are with you. Stay strong.
I was so devastated to hear about Barry being missing. It is so sad and I am praying for his safe return to family and friends!!! God speed his return to you all!!!!
I went to Hollywood Professional School from 1973 and graduated in 1978.
I was in love with the Cowsill's in the sixties. I would have married John or Barry, they were closest to my age! I met Susan here in Indianapolis on September 3rd and was totally thrilled. I wish Barry would be found - I can't stand it that noone has found him! Barry - come to Indy and sing with Susan sometime!!!
The Cowsills made a huge impact on my life in the 60's. Your music resonated inside of me in a way that no others could. I remember seeing the group at the York (PA) Fair, and trying to figure out a way to finagle my way into the hotel to see Barry! LOL! I never quite got there, but have that wonderful memory of sitting in the stands, seeing my favorite group right in front of my eyes! I was devastated to learn about Barry, and pray for his safe return!
My wife and I used to go to the Rusty Gull in North Vancouver and Darby Dawes in Kitsilano, BC to hear Billy back in the 1980's. Lindsay Mitchell (Prism) was playing with him then. Billy and his local group including Lindsay played at our Going Away Party at Jericho Sailing Centre in June 1989 with at least 200 people attending. We are now back on the West Coast and are devastated to hear of Billy's health problems. We will be buying his CD from the shop in Calgary and would like to follow his progress! Thanks for this site from his legion of dedicated fans! - Dan St. Andrews, October 2005
I am so sorry to hear about Barry. I pray for his safe return. I was a musician during those 'days' when life was so simple. My music style was different from the Cowsills, but I would sometimes listen to them. Their sound was so pleasant and fun to hear. I seemed to know what ups and downs can do to a musician. Every musician can relate for there is never a life of a musician that stays 'up'. They know what I mean. Nothing compares to losing a family member or displacement of one. Not knowing is sometimes more painful. My prayers are for Barry's safe return and for God to ease the pain of the family. Sincerely, Russ
Have been a Cowsill fan since the 60's. After visiting this site and viewing some of the old photo's people have submitted, it was like a big flash back to my teens because I had seen all these photos before in corresponding with many of you way back when. Back when we were teens, I remember the phrase "Cowsill Fans Unite". Sounds kind of silly after all these years but then again it's not when there is a big need to extend postive thought, prayer and hugs no matter where you live to those who love Barry the most. When times are tuff folks, you really find out who your friends are and once again after all these years Cowsill Fans DO Unite once more in extending our heartfelt thoughts and good karma to a positve outcome in finding your brother. Sincerely, Dawn Shiner Sincerely, Dawn
I found this site by way of a good friend. She sent me an email to tell me that Barry is missing. We loved the Cowsills in our early teens and have all the albums from that time, however I haven't heard anything recent. Looking forward to checking it out. I am so sorry to hear about the hardships you have experienced. Please find comfort in knowing that many people out there are concerned and praying for you. God Bless!
I grew up listening to the Cowsills and enjoyed their music very much. In fact I have CDs that I listen to now. I was shocked to hear about John and hope that everything is well with him. Also, best wishes to all the Cowsills. Dave B.
If Berry is missing, where are his wife and children?Did thry get out safeley?
I'm praying for Barry ...... The Cowsills were a special part of my teen years. I loved your music.Had all your albums....especially enjoyed "Live in Concert." John was my favorite. Take Care & God Bless. Psalm 46:10
I saw Fox news today about Barry. I am so sorry. I was a fan back in the day. I didn't know that the family members were still recording. I will have to check out the new music. I'll keep your family in my prayers.
Good Luck finding Barry. God will protect him until he is found.
When I was 13 years old the Cowsills came to our State Fair and I saw them in concert. Then a few days later on my birthday, a friend of mine had arranged for Barry to call me and wish me a Happy Birthday. I didn't believe it was him at first, but it was. I will never forget how happy he made me. That was around 1968. I will pray for Barry and hope he is found soon.
I am a 48 year old mother of 5 and grandmother of 5 also. The Cowsills was my absolute favorite group when I was probably 11 or 12. Of course I got all the Tiger Beat, 16, and various other magazines and my room was loaded with pictures of mostly John and Barry. John was my favorite. I had the biggest crush on him. I think he was closest to my age. My biggest dream came true when the Cowsills came and performed at the Heart Of Illinois Fair in Peoria, IL. which was only 10 miles from my home town. I had never been to a concert before and that was better than I had imagined. Through the years I've shared my favorite group with my children. Two of which are involved in music. My son, who's 26 is a drummer on our worship band at church and my youngest daughter, who's 25 has been on the road with Britney Spears, opening for her on her 2003 tour. She was in a band called 3rd Faze. If you do a google search on 3rd Faze, she is Sara. The one with the long blond hair. She's now living in L.A. pursuing her musical dreams. I know I instilled a love of music in my children and I also know that part of that love was instilled in me through my favorite band of all time. Let me take this time to say that I am praying for Barry and his safe return to the family. I believe he will be found and I pray that God gives you peace and faith about his safe keeping until that time. God Bless You All & I love you!!
I'm still lost in the sixties. that was my time and you were there. may we all rock in heaven. i think God will put us all together in the 60's in Heaven. see ya there. peace
I wanted to say I am sorry to hear about Barry missing. I just found out today, listening to an Oldie's station. I loved the Cowsill's and still do, they bring back memories of yesteryear and I love it. I will keep Barry in my prayers, and the Cowsill's family. God Bless.
Love this site. I was a huge fan in the day (especially you, John) hehe I plan on getting a copy of "Global" after I write this. I haven't heard you all sing together since the 70's. Your music has so many wonderful memories to me. My thoughts and prayers are with you all in finding Barry and wishing Bill a speedy recovery. God Bless you all. XOXOXOX
Press is press... Being a teen in the late sixties I have great memories of your music.... WOW.... Thanx.... God's speed to getting your brother Barry back & on track.
Always a fan!
I'm so sorry to hear about Barry. I know God is taking care of him wherever he's at. I will pray for him to come home to all of you. I really enjoyed your music. I'm still a fan of all of you. I hope someday when all of you are back together, you will have a reunion concert and play all of your classic and new songs. That will be very a exciting show to see. I know I will be there!! Hang in there, I know Barry will be home soon.
We're your cousins from Michigan. My dad Jim Cowsill and Bud were half brothers. Kevin went to the Mich. state fair concert with you guys way in the day. We heard about Barry and we are praying for his safe return.
Sorry to hear about Barry. I love you guys... you played at a prom I attended back in the 60s when you weren't famous anywhere but RI and you were all living in Newport.
barry is really great..his songs are amazing!
Barry fan for 36 years. Checking the website 3-4 times a day since our famous Katrina. Louisiana takes care of its' own. Keep the faith. Barry is alive and well.
What the censored is going on with Barry?! I am an old friend of his and just yesterday heard he is missing, I have no email or phone number for him, he did call me about a year or so ago. Please! Somebody fill me in!
Hi! My partner and I run http://www.rhythmonline.co.uk - a (small, friendly, independent) music webstore. We've just added the Cowsills to our huge and eclectic list of releases (we've got one of the largest lists of its kind on the web). Come and visit us? Cheers, Jude x
I didn't see the segment on CNN, my sister sent me the web info just last week. She knows how crazy I was about the Cowsills when I was a girl. I did, however, remember on Sept. 14th that it was Barry's birthday and I said a silent Happy Birthday and short prayer for him. I will continue to pray for you to find him, and that he will be ok. Love -
A friend tipped me off about Barry being missing. It was so weird because up until the hurricane, I have wondered what ever happenned to the Cowsills - whom I absolutely adored during my junior high years. I saw them live 3 times - nearly fainted when I almost touched John. Now I'm WAY older - 50 - and this just feels weird. My prayers are with the family for Barry's safe return from wherever he is and for Billy to chase the health demons out. I want to thank the family for the wonderful years "we" spent together. PS-I'm quite certain "fainting" is still an option.
I'm now 44 and my son is 10 and we sing along with the cowsills or by ourselves whenever possible I heard about billy and pray that soon he'll be found to be just fine .godbless and when will the cowsills get together again?anytime soon .hopefully near san pedro or long beach
I just joined this fan club yesterday (my B'Day), but have been reading it for a while. My heart, love and prayers go out to all re. Barry. He was my teen idol back in the 60's, I know in my heart he WILL celebrate his 52nd B'Day!!!!!!!!!
My thoughts and prayers will be with you all and I pray for the safe return of Barry.
I grew up with the Cowsills. They were a huge part of my childhood growing up in Boston. I thank them for all they added to my life. I am devestated to read about Barry. Last year was so exciting for me when they played Fenway Park during the world series. They brought so much joy into my life. I wish there were some way I could help with Barry. I believe all will be well. We should not give up hope.
I pray for Barry, and hope to god that Barry is safe. My heart goes out to your family,I am 50 years old ,you guys are my past and will never be forgotten. Your songs made memories for me,and still going strong. love and luck to you! Joyce from Philly
I had the good fortune of seeing the Cowsills perform in both Weisbaden, Germany and Burges High School in El Paso, TX back when I was a teen. What great performances! I hope and pray Barry turns up safe and sound.
Please know that a special prayer request to St. Jude has been put in for both Bill and Barry. St. Jude is the patron saint of impossible things, and has been known to never refuse a request. God Bless you all
I'm one of your biggest fans since first seeing you at the NY State Fair in 1968... I've loved all of your music and think that "Global" is brilliant. I'm pulling for all of you and feel certain that Barry will be found. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you!
Dear Cowsills, I was one of your biggest fans in the 70's and still am! I am so sorry to hear of your concern of not being able to find Barry. I am praying for him. Dana
I love your work. I saved me when times were tough. I also enjoyed your rendition of our NATIONAL ANTHEM today!!!! YAY COWSILLS!!!
So many warm, cozy memories creep in to my heart when I hear the name COWSILLS. I think that we will never outgrow or lose the innocence of that time in our lives. I refuse to believe that anything has happened to Barry. We will just wait to hear and hope that he comes home, as he had begun to do on September 1.
I have been following the stories about Barry with great interest as I live in Calgary Alberta Canada where Billy lives and know several of his very good friends (Alain and all the folks from the Mecca, Steve Pineo, Denise and everyone at the Calgary Folk Music Festival where I am a long-term volunter etc.) My thoughts are with both brothers and the family. I hope that Barry is found safe and well and that Billy is feeling much better. I will follow the news with great interest.
I only want to say that I do hope you hear from Barry. He has become a good friend to me the past year and a half as I moved up here from New Orleans. If there is anything I can do to help out please let me know.Cody
I am praying for your Family. I love your music and your a great part of my childhood. Thank you and Bless You all!
I hope you find Barry ok and that he is well. You are all in our Prayers.Keep the music going and take care.
My twin & I saw you guys at Harper College in Illinois way back when we were teenagers. We are now in our late 40's and still love your music. I was so sorry to hear about Barry. our prayers are with you. My twin says she remembers Barry running into the girls bathroom to prevent getting stomped on from the many fans. I remember Bob kissing my arm and not wanting to wash it for months. Oh, the teenage years. your group has givin' my twin and I great memories, and we thank you for that.take care.....I never say good-by, I always say later......later
God Its Hard to believe You guys are Still Around
I have been checking this site daily for any updates on Barry. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.
I was watching CNN the other night and saw the segment on Barry....first, I want to say I hope and pray you have him home soon..second well, what can I say except when ever I think about growing up in the 60's your music is the first thing that comes to mind...thanks for the memories.
I have many good memories of time spent listening to the Cowsills and seeing them in concert and even visiting their old house in Newport - these memories still make me smile even though they're from 30 plus years ago. I saw Bob on ET and am very sorry to hear that Barry has had so many troubles over the years and that while I was dreamily listening to my records, he was not doing having much fun in the real world. I hope that he contacts his family soon and that he can also start having the happy life everyone deserves. My thoughts are with you.
Bob, you know who I am. New Orleans is a 6 hour drive and if I can be of assistance with my extensive background, I would certianly have the time and the resoruces to assist in the search for Barry. Feel free to contact me. In the meantime, my thoughts are continually with you and the rest of the family.
we all will pray for you to find him.
My prayers are with you Barry.
the rain the park and other things has always taken my breath away, and still continues to do so. that time in my life and what was going on,i guess. thank you cowsills for recording that song.
Our hopes and prayers are with you that Barry be found soon.
Hopefully Barry will turn up well very soon.....Joe
Get back home soon Barry Joe Ventura www.datingsafe.com
I just heard about Barry, and was saddened. Hope he finds his way back home soon. Loved all the groups hits when I was a kid!!! Im 49 now and my 12 year old plays "Indian Lake"and"Hair" and"Rain, the park.." all the time on his stereo. Peace and health to all of you. Thanks for the tunes.
I prey he gets in touch with you soon and everything is fine. I cried when I heard he was missing.I do hope he is okay. If I can kick my habits I know he can.Tell him to get a big bag of tootsie rolls and when he wants something he shouldn't have, eat some tootsies. Good luck and GOD BLESS. MARY,
My heartfelt prayers are with your family following Billy's surgery and Barry still missing since Hurricane Katrina. I always enjoyed your songs. I was born in 1956 so grew up hearing your songs and enjoying them. I am one of a family of 6 children, and know the support and bond we get from each other. Having one missing creates such a void in your life. Just believe in your heart with all your soul that you'll find Barry, and it will happen! I'm believing for you every day!
Hi there you! I just love you guys!!! i seen you on the news thing last week. I think that you guys are real hip and groovy!
I saw you guys perform live in Montgomery, AL back in the 60's when I was a teenager and I just loved your performance. My heart goes out to you about Barry. I pray he is found safe and alive very soon.
My prayers are added to the thousands of others. We are praying for a safe return. He is out there, and someone will find him. Pray for the person who is to find him and will bring good news to you.
I hope you find Barry soon. It was haunting to see the images of what could have been him down there at the Convention Center. It looked like there was also a soft guitar case in front of him lying there. I hope he's okay. He's obviously been through such a scary ordeal. Going on the news was really the right thing to do. It's the best way to find people. Good luck to you. I hope he's all right.
Was just thinking about Barry earlier this month (I always think of him on September 14th), so I was so shocked to read about him on CNN. Prayers, faith and love to the entire family during this challenging time. Love you all forever.
Heartfelt prayers and thoughts to all your family for the safe return to you of Barry. Jammed with Billy (?) at (the old, uptown) Kenny's Castaways in 1972 -- first time playing onstage with a star :-) Love to each of you, and holding Barry in the light.
Just sent my prayers for the family to fanclub email address. Peace, comfort and rest to you all.
The summer of 1967 was a magical time for me. I was a 17 year old Virginia lad who first set eyes on San Francisco when I was stationed near there on my first Coast Guard ship. Your beautiful song, "The Rain, The Park and Other Things," is strongly linked to my fondest recollections of that amazing time in our country's history and I thank you for the pleasure it continues to give me. You have my heartfelt prayers for Barry's safe return to you and for the continued well being of your wonderfully gifted family.
Heartfelt thoughts and prayers to all of you in the hopes that your brother Barry turns up safe and sound and reunited with his loved ones. God watches over one and all, and is aware of your anxiety & pain. Keep the faith and have courage. Your fans stand with you.
I just learned that Barry has been missing since the flood. I will hold him, and all of you in light.
I was watching cnn on my computer and seen that a brother is missing after Katrina I hope you find him and he is safe.
Finding this website brought back soooo many good memories.
This may sound weird, but have you tried the many shelters in the Dallas/Fort Worth Area for Barry? You may start with Reunion Arena in Dowtown Dallas. We have over 250,000 evacuees here and, hey, it is worth a shot. God Be with you all. Tammy
Barry phone home. Hope you are alright...
Barry, you are in my prayers. I pray every day that you are ok. Please contact your family. Everyone is worried. I hope you are ok. I hope you had a happy 51st birthday! Take care and please contact somebody! Love you...Debbie
Barry if you are out there please contact your family. They are looking for you. We all love you.
I didn't know you were still playing music, until I stumbled on a story about Barry being missing on Netscape. I look forward to hearing your great music and reliving some memories. I so hope and pray that Barry is found. God works in mysterious ways. This maybe a way for Barry to reunite with family and resolve his problems. I am praying for a speedy reunion and recovery for Barry. Love, Best Wishes, Prayers, Karen
Hey Barry, Your old friend from the Mesa / Beach Boys, J Peters, etc. I'm sure glad you are safe, just don't hang out alone. Keep in touch with your family, friends & maybe give me a call, too. Take care, Dude !
Thanks to Google I found this site. Have wondered for many years how all of you were doing. Saw you many years ago and loved your music. I hope you find Barry soon. Please give an update. G.R.
My deepest prayers go out to you and your family aat this time but especially for Barry. I pray that he will contact you soon and be well and come through this terrible time healthy and strong. I remember going to one of your concerts in Detroit in the 60's with a friend of mine. Dying to catch a glimse of you all up close, we at the end of the concert figured you would be going out the backway so we somehow found our way to what seemed to be a back entrance (yeah security wasn't what it is now). We opened the door and your mom, Susan, Barry and John were getting into their vehicle with Bob and Bill following behind. We were beside ourselves!!! We walked up and said hi and you were all so sweet. Barry, John and Susan seemed somewhat shy and quiet but so nice and I still remember it today. In closing I hope that God will bring Barry back to you all safe and sound and for Susan I'm very pleased that you got out of there and are safe. Love to you all. Joann
Hi, I don't know if you remember Operation Entertainment I think it was in 1968, Fort Gordon Ga. My Dad Col.Dave Vining might have been Major back then was in charge and Dick Cowsill was working for my dad at the time on post. I remember Dick came to our house for dinner while he was stationed there. I also remember going to the holiday Inn there in Augusta and hanging out at the pool with all of the cowsills. In fact I believe my mom & dad went to see your mom & dad at least once? My Dad thought so much of Richard. Saw the news about Barry on T.v, brought back all those memories. I am thinking of ya'll.
Hello to ALL the Cowsills!! I nearly fell off the bed last night when watching ET!! I am saddened about the news of Barry. My first crush: I thought we were meant for each other our birthdays only days apart (Yep I am 51 as well). I pray you will hear from Barry soon, and maybe his nomadic ways may find him in Cleveland's Rock Hall.
Keeping all of you in prayer and hope Barry is soon back with you. God's B;essing's to you all, and for all the memorie's and song's.
Attention Uncle Bob, I love Barry and have had him in my prayers since 1976 when he and my sister were in love. He was living at the house on Fredona(sp?), up on the hill above Universal Studios. My niece is Barry's daughter, so when I heard the teaser for ET last night that Barry is missing I tuned in to the show. It just broke my heart to hear the sadness and grief in his voice. You are all in my prayers. I will be watching for any news you find about Barry. Bob, Carrie and her boys have evacuated Houston in advance of Hurricane Rita and are safe with friends upstate.
I will keep you and your family in my Blessings. I remember those days of yester years. I would love to see you all come to Omaha. Happy days again! Blessings of Love, Light, and Laughter, Samantha

I saw the segment on ET last night. I was moved to see how reaching this Horrible disaster stretches. I pray for your family and all the families directly affected. When the rest of the world forgets, don't hesitate to remind us. BARRY will come home. GOD BLESS!!
I saw the story last night about Barry missing. He was a big part of my youth, I was a huge fan. I mean signs at concerts, fan club member, record/magazine buying, anything Cowsill type fan. If I had know he was in New Orleans the last two times a visited I would have loved to see him perform. My prayers are with him and his family. Please don't let his story fade away...keep us updated. Thank you
I remember...thx.
Hi. I saw the ET segment regarding Barry. My heart goes out to you. I'm so sorry you and your family are going through this. I hope you hear something soon. In the meantime, you and your family are in my prayers. (((hugs)))
Richard and family, your new neighbors here in Rio Rancho will continue to pray for you and your family. The prayer tree was started back when you first told us and it has never-ending branches.May you hear from Barry soon. Please don't hesitate to come a knocking next door.
IIXII LP. I really love the IIxII LP & was wondering where I could find a LP or Cassete of it. My favorite on the LP is Six Six Six.
I've seen the report about Barry. I hope you find him in good health and pray that he is well. Good luck in your search and hope things go well.
Hi-i have said some prayers like others have that Barry will be found. i saw the Entertainment Tonight show tonight where his phone call recording to his family was played. it made me so sad he was lonely and in trouble. I live in Texas where we are now being threatened by hurricane Rita. I pray all this horror and sadness heaped on mankind will stop soon. Oh yes. It always made me so mad that the producers of The Partridge Family wanted you all to be on their show without your wonderful Mom. That show would have been just as big a hit without SHirley Jones or the others in it, but your family instead, Mom included. (I have nothing against Shirley Jones, i just dont like to see people treated badly.) You had great hit records and were well known. I dont like wishing bad on people. However, I hope the angel of conscience visits the Patridge producers in their sleep. I hope these guys realize what a crummy thing they pulled by not having all your family on their show. God bless-
I am willing to start writing and calling every newspaper in Lousiana, Texas and any of the other places they took the refugess from Katrina to when they relocated them. I need some stats, a picture I can Scan and fax. It is the least I can do to help a family that gave me and my mother much pleasure during a time when I was 14 and perfectly horrible to her. If someone would get back to me I can start. I'm really good at ferreting out things including people. I think he may be like my friend's grandmother that we were sure was dead and when we found her last week she couldn't for the life of her understand why all of us were so worried about a woman from Sicily, age 93 walking around the French Quarter, before during and after Katrina. That is her. So what more can I say. the guy in the CNN piece is him. I'd know that face anywhere. Heaven knows my best friend talked and dreamed about him enough. You never forget your first crush. Anne
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you, in the hopes that Barry is found safe and sound. WE LOVE YOU!
You guys were so good that I never forgot you. I tell my kids about you. What great voices! Now thanks to E.T. I know about Barry. Keeping the family in my prayers.
I watched ET tonight and wanted all the Cowsill's to know that you are in my thoughts. I hope that you hear from Barry soon. Happy belated birthday Barry. Please call someone and let them know that you are ok.
I can remember you guys when you first came out when I was 16 years old. You guys need to get back together and bring back some good ole memories.
Bob, sure hope & pray your brother Barry contacts you, seen you on ET & was touched by your effort to locate him, Good luck & God Bless you. P.S. Happy Birthday Barry belated, & wish you the best Call Your brother!
I have loved your music since I was a little girl in the 70's. I watched this evening as you pleaded for the safe return of your brother, Barry. I pray the Lord answers your prayers and Barry is found soon and safe. Please know you have many people praying with you and for you.
Love you Cowsills.You are awsome.You are 2 good 2 be 4 gotten
I just saw the Beach Boys concert at Mid America Motorworks' Corvette Funfest on Sat Sept 17. What a fantastic event! Half way through the concert they announced the names of the band members & I flipped out! I was a Cowsill groupie in Jr High & John was always my favorite! That made the concert SOOOOO much better! I went home & dug out my old albums. It's definitely renewed my interest in the Cowsills!
I have loved your music for years and am so excited to know that Susan is going to be at Eddie's Attic in Decatur, Ga at the end of September. Happy Belated birthday Barry.
John, we heard ya tonite at Effingham, Il. w/ The B.Boys, you are a heck of a musician and you sing your ass off!!The band was tight, made our day, BTW I'm a professional drummer, been gigging forever so it seems..
Dear Cowsills, One of your songs(The Flower Girl)was on the radio today. It reminded my of what clever song writers you are,"If you can't have it knock it"(Bob&Paul)has been on my best songs list for many years. YOU ROCK ! Much Love - k5 P.S. We all(your fans)would love to see Tabs on your web site!!!
Much love and prayers are being sent and said for y'all. Best of luck in the search for Billy. Many prayers for a big happy family reunion with lots of music, hugs and laughter.
Hi Bob, We had a good time on Sunday. I hope we have an opportunity to come see you again. Its really nice when three generations can come together at a performance like yours and enjoy a Sunday afternoon. God Bless, Peter
Mine name is Keith Hallam. I was senior class president of Middletown High (1966-67) and as such was able to convince Bob, Bill, and your Dad (who was extremely hard to convince) to have the Cowsills perform at the Homecoming Dance - to everyone's delight. You will likely remember me because I stood out quite dramatically at MHS because I was elected my first year there President of the Senior Class and chosen as the lead in the class play - primarily because I was the first "hippie" with long hair in the school, and one of the few in Newport. Bob and I sat next to each other in Math class and while he was certainly hip and cool, we were quite a contrast - Bob, woolen socks, woolen sweaters, and often tweed blazer - while, I wore jeans, sandals, and a denim workshirt, with extremely long blond hair. We were somewhat pals and Bob came to my home on the Naval Base to shoot hoops. I used to watch you perform at your own club Bambi's and also at the bars on Thames Street. I now live in Northern Virginia, married and two children. My wife and I saw John perform with the Beach Boys last year at Wolf Trap. We have seen hundreds of concerts and this was surely in the top five. We have bought our tickets for the Beach Boy concert this year at Wolf Trap, 8:00 p.m. 2005. We have purchased the best seats in the house, front row, orchestra pit directly in front of stage. John, it would be great fun/great nostalgia to say Hi to you personally and find out how you Bob and family have been - Chat about Cowsills/Newport/Middletown and your career. Therefore, please let me know through the above e-mail as to how to make arrangements to meet, if possible before or after show. Will hold up a small sign during "Help Me Rhonda" saying "Newport, Rhode Island." Whether or not we hear from you, we look forward to a great concert. Also, if Bob reads this please e-mail me to say "Hi" and play catch-up. Keith Hallam
I just adore your group and have just about all your recordings. Your sound was so sweet and clear and just heavenly,it still is !
Dear Bob, This someone you wouldn't expect from hearing from I am Kelsey Stoddard Ilenes daughter. I went to web site and saw some cool pictures, read your info/history, and also I heard your music. My favorite song there is the rain the park and the other things. My mom tells me that you never sing songs like that when she sees you perform. I think you should sing some songs like that at the club more then you usualy do .Kelsey Stoddard age 9 saying bye. sincerely Kelsey
Hi Susan & John, I played piano with you guys in Dwight Twilley's band A LONG time ago for a short time. I think it was when Scuba Divers came out. We rehearsed quite a bit for a tour, but then you guys went out on the road without a piano player...my loss! I even still have some recordings of the rehearsels. I just wanted to say what an honor it was to play with you two. I really liked John's drumming and vocals, and I always loved Susan's voice! And her solo album sounds really nice too, by the way. I was also friends with Tim Bonhomme, and I saw that John is working with him in the Beach Boys Band. Anyway--I just wanted to say hi...
So you guys were the band that influenced the making of the Partridge Favily TV series? I remember some of your music growing up in the 60s. It brings back memories.
I have been a fan since the Cowsills first came out. I was a regular at concerts and your pictures decorated my walls. I've been looking everywhere to find something about you guys. I'm so glad I found this site. God bless each of you.
Hi Cowsills! Boy did I enjoy your music in the 60's! I was 11 in 1968 and the neighbors and I used to listen to music all night while camping out and we loved "The Rain, the Park and Other Things", Indian Lake", and "Hair". The music is not as good as back in those days. I can remember all of you being in 16 magazine as well as countless other "teen" magazines. I think I even sent a letter to Barry because his birthday was close to mine (Sept. 1st). Thanks again for all of the great music and the sweet memories from a fun time in my life!! Regards, Nathan Myers
How do you do! I'm Japan Beach Boys Fan Club president. Now we want to greet you at Fuji Rock Festival. What should we do? We want you to say "Ushi Mo Shitteru Cowsills"("even cow know cowsills") onstage! http://bbfunjapan.hp.infoseek.co.jp/
i purchased the Millennium Collection of ten Cowsill songs. I was surprised at how good it was. I especially like 'Most Of All' and 'Indian Lake'.
It has been a lot of years since last being in touch with any of the Cowsill family. I am not even sure if all of you will remember me. Saw you many times from 1967-into the late 70's, all over the northeastern USA but mostly right here in New England. Would love for you to e-mail me. My Dad was friendly with Bud and Barb (military days) I am hoping that you will all get back together to tour. So many of us fans out here still who would LOVE to see you perform again. John, remember Mountain Park, Holyoke, MA? Always, AnnMarie
Hi Bob, You might not remember me, but I was the one who dragged your but over to the Malibu Inn. I saw you at the Picadilly and it was all down hill from there. I'll never forget you and me singing at the Inn. "Peaceful Easy Feeling" was our song. I'll never forget jamming with one of the Cowsills. Please feel free to reply if you wish: jimandtrace@comcast.net Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks for the memories at the good old Malibu Inn. Jim Phelan

Could I be your only UK fan? The records from the sixties and seventies that inspired me to become a songwriter were "The Rain, The Park and The Other Things" by the Cowsills, "Cherish" by the Association, and "God Only Knows" by the Beach Boys. You keep very good company in my collection. I have all of them on CD, and they are well played. Thank you for many wonderful moments, past, present and future. Barry
keep the music coming....
Hi C's, How about doing another "Family Thing"...Part II concert this year??? "Wouldn't It Be Nice"?? YES, indeed it would!!! Hope all of you are having a GREAT summer! Must get over to the Sidewalk Cafe to see Bob or to the Fox & Hounds for band night...SOON, as my friends are "bugging" me to go out with them to hear some music other than our regular, EVERY Tue. pm. "Forever Fab" Beatles tribute band at Brennan's Pub in Marina del Rey!!! I won't give up my Tues. nights there...BTW...GREAT BAND!!! If you have the chance, check them out, you won't regret it!! YEA, YEA, YEA :-) Cyn
35 years ago today I met John outside the home in Santa Monica. He invited my girlfriend and me into the house, gave us the LP of II x II and a book. Of course he signed it - and I was floating on clouds for days. Thank you so much everyone for the memories. I've since moved from West LA to VA, who'd of thought? But those memories are still strong.
Bob you have brought fun and entertainment back into my life , you are a great performer, your humor is great and as a person you are down to earth and kind. Thanks for being part of my life. See you at Fox and Hound...
Hi!~ Have always been a fan since I was a kid. My 16yr old daughter Kristina fell in love with "Hair", so I had to buy your CD for her. I thinks has worn it out by now. Your music brings back good memories. Thanks for the great music. A Fan Always, Kathy
I am from Colorado, working in Savannah, GA right now... would sure like to see you guys do "The Rain, The Park and Other Things"!!! Where and when? I'll be there! I have seen the finest musicians in the world, (except for Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix), and I can say that one of the, if not THE, most beautiful songs ever made is, "The Rain, The Park and Other Things" Peace and Love, Tom
Hi Guys, Wish I knew that Susan and Barry were going to be in town playing with Bob @ The Fox & Hounds, May 21st!!! I went to the Beach Boy Landmark Dedication and VIP after party (5-20-05), had a great time, and Sat. (5-21-05), went to see David Marks concert...(once a Beach Boy) in Anaheim that night. It was a great show, seeing all of my old "buds", former back up players with the Beach Boys, i.e, Ed Carter, Billy Hinsche, Matt Jardine, Bobby Figueroa, Phil Bardowell and, Mike Meros. Had a great "reunion". I would have loved to see all of you if I had known you were all going to be in town and playing with Bob! Bummer!!! Maybe sometime this summer you'll, "Do It Again"...Hope so!!! Have a GREAT SUMMER, Ta for now. Cindy
P.S.... If you guys want to see a GREAT Beatle band, go to Brennan's Pub, in the Marina del Rey, Tue. pm.'s. These guys are fantastic! Band is "Forever Fab", they look LOOK (especially Peter, who is, "John Lennon", and SOUND exactly like the Beatles. If you close your eyes, you'd swear you were at the Hollywoood Bowl, seeing the Beatles. I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone who likes Beatle music, and WHO doesn't like Beatle music? Check them out if you're free on Tue. pm...You won't regret it!!!
I'm now 49 and my memories of the Cowsills as a teenager are my fondest. I saw you 13 times when you played at Steel Pier in Atlantic City. I was so nervvous when I met Barry (my favorite) that I could hardly speak. I'm so glad I found this site. I've often wondered what The Cowsills were doing now.
God bless you guys ( and gals)! I am sure you are aware that your music has crossed every type of people in the world. I heard "hair" for the first on the Howard Stern Show years ago and fell in love with it. Grand Job!! I always try to expose my friends to the first family of Rock and roll. Before the Jacksons, before the Osmonds there were the Cowsills:) Long live the Flower Girl.
I saw you in wichita,ks in 1969 or 70 at century two - great fun for a 10 year old. Recently saw you again on a VH1 show and the memories came flooding back. I wish you all the best. DW

GREAT TO SEE YOU AGAIN... YOU GUYS WERE MT HEROS WHEN I WAS A KID IN THE 60S , GOOD TO SEE YOU ... YOU LOOK GREAT BEST TO YOU AND YOURS... PG
I was an algebra teacher at Middletown High School (RI) when Bill and Bob first started their careers. I still have the autographed picture they gave me (probably so that I would not be upset about them missing school to go to NY.) I recently ran into someone through my PTA work who mentioned the Cowsills and that brought back some old memories. Glad you are still performing.
I am 48 years old now. I loved your band since, what 1967-68? Loved your milk ads. I was so in love with Barry! I was even in your club. Didn't know Bob had a twin till recently, he must have really pissed off your dad! Glad to see you all still playing music.
Hi susan bob bill and cowsills fans reading this. to quote pete fornatale on WFUV new york today, "yesterday a station was masacered." yesterday at 5:00 eastern daylight time, long standing institution of New york radio WCBS fm was switched with only an Hours notice to the air staff to the new rapidly expanding Jack format. this is a format with no djs and no contests and just music from rock to top 40 from 1970s through the 1990s. this means no more the rain the park and other things, no indian lake no hair no cowsills or any 1950/60s. susan you have my deepest regrets and especially since they don't play yourcontinental drifters or solo stuff either, you don't have a home here on the radio. got a crush on susan after she played on the laura cantrell show on WFMU, and the drifters got a spin on that station the other day. sorry infinity broadcasting doesn't believe in anyone over 49, and i'll tell any blind person who wants to go into radio not to ever work for viacom/infinity/cbs.my sympethetic fielings for all the cowsill family and there fans.
Love the page! This is my first time here and I'll be back for sure. Wish you could tour somewhere close enough for me to experience your music first hand. Have a great year!!!
I was strolling thru the cd section of circuit city and discovered a Cowsills hits disc .... i smiled to myself and purchased the disc. thanks for music that makes you smile and calls back fun memories . peace be
Finding this site was the best news ever!!! Ever since I was 12, you Cowsills have ruled my world! From running your fan club out of Huntington Beach, Cal. To my bedroom walls being covered with your pictures, my high school notebook full of fan club mail, seeing you perform at the John Wayne Theatre in Knotts Berry Farm, knowing every word to every song, I could go on and on. I love you all so much and really want to know that I am in touch with you, I feel I've known you all my life. AND, HAPPY BIRTHDAY,SUSAN !!! I was thinking about you're birthday when I yahoo searched your name. Keep up the great work and thanks for being there !! debbiedoo
Just wanted to say Thank You for all the great song's and how they allways take me back to my young days. We Can Fly ,It is wonderful. Tom Tiller
Cowsills can be heard in my weekly podcast - check out http://homepage.mac.com/piker/DarkMeat.html
I saw the Cowsills in Ames, Iowa at CY Stephens Auditorium in about 1969. I would have been 12 y/o. Always had a crush on the young daughter
Hi Bill, this an old,old friend from our high school who had a huge crush on you when we were 8th graders! Remember? Joyce, the beatle nut! Still am after 41 years too! We also share the same birthday if you remember too! Heard you were ill and hope you are on the road to the mend! I still love your music and remember you and Bob singing in our English class "Baby Blue"! We heard you before you guys got famous! My three sons and my 2 grandchildren also love your songs! Joyce[Blankenship]Withers
Well do I remember the days; Barry,Rod,Woody,Mac and me,crawling from pub to pub, cigarettes dripping from our lips, thinking,"What is Nanker Phelge, anyway?"
loved your site, looking at the pix brought back many happy memories!
Found this on the Internet. It's always different to see your own name on the Internet and on albums and TV and the radio. I have a few albums and know a few songs. I have co-workers that ask me if I am related and they are stunned. Is there anything planned for tours, new albums etc... Good to chat with you!
I remember as a teenager loving the Cowsills, especially Barry and Bill and Susie (since my name is similar and some of my friends called me that). I can remember playing their albums over and over and dreaming of meeting them someday. Maybe that can come true yet, right? I now have met so many stars as we are always buying concert tickets (especially to Country concerts) and always wait in line for days to get front row seats. I know if the Cowsills were to come somewhere near me, I'd wait days to get front row seats just so I could meet them.
As a child, I picked green beans and strawberries in the Willamette Valley in Oregon. We listened to the AM radio in the fields whenever we were in earshot of someone who had one. I heard a song once that permanently entered my brain, but I never knew the name of it, or who sang it. It was like a holy grail of songs to me, and I would sing the first line to people, "I saw her sitting in the rain, raindrops falling on her..." but no one ever knew what it was. I've got it now, and it is my favorite song. Probably seems silly to you, but if you knew how much, and how wide a range of music I have in my head, and how that song, "The Rain, The Park And Other Things" stands above the rest, you'd know it's very special. Thanks for such a wonderful song. It's made my life happier!!
Your sound and Your harmonies were the "Epitome of Perfection" "The Bomb" " michaelangelo,s Sistine Chapel" "timeless memories" it does not get no better! Thanks Perry
Wow - great site w/lots of info. Nobody does harmony better than The Cowsills! I'm a Smithereens fan, too, and one of my faves is "Now and Then" with those GORGEOUS Cowsill vocals! I truly get chills up and down the spine whenever I hear you sing! Glad to hear recent news - all the best to all of you.
Holy Cannoli - I'm glad I found this web site. I still have a crush on Susan after 35 years! The Cowsill's rock. Do you ever get to PA? How about Penns Peak www.pennspeak.com PLEASE?
THE MUSIC ALWAYS, EVEN TO THIS DAY, MAKES ME SMILE INSIDE AND GO SOMEWHERE PEACFUL AND WARM. thanks...mike
I went to my first Cowsill consert in Cincinnati in 1967. I was 15 years old and I was madly in love with Paul! I went to the concert even though I had a fever of 102 degrees (I didn't tell my mom I was sick until I got home!) I passed a note to Susan for Paul after the concert.
I would really love to see the Cowsill's get on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
You are the reason I got into the music business. My parents took my to the Steel Pier in Atlantic City, NJ and you did an all acoustic set because something happened w/ the sound, electricity, etc. You were the pioneers for "unplugged" music. Keep at it & Susan - "Twilley, don't mind" www.davidfiorenza.com david fio
I stop what I'm doing whenever I hear "The Rain, the Park, and Other Things" come on the radio. The harmonies are great! You don't hear too much harp anymore! I'm 47. Hope the Cowsills are all well.
hey cowsills, especially susan and of course all the fans who read this book. ken again. got a question wasn't indian lake a top 10 hit? it use to come up when oldies station WCBS fm in NY. did the count down from a passed year. seem to rembmber hearing it on WABC in the good old days of top 40 radio. thanks and keep rockin' all.
Hi. I just heard "Hair" on Oldies 93.3 KIOA (Rock & Roll's Greatest Hits).
I went to Middletown High with all of you in Rhode Island. You were such jerks then. Hope you've grown up and matured since those days so long ago.
Susan, hope you haven't forgotten me already. You just gotta get to the UK, I'll do all I can, and I'm sure Laura and Amy can help even more than me, but if there's any specifications you require, please let me know. I will have to open all the shows (just joking, but it would certainly be an honor)if you have any plans to take that journey, please take me with you. When you comin' here? I can help ther as well. If you do, not in the Winter-it's not pleasant then. By the way, you were outstanding at every show I saw, your band is wonderful and Rob's an outstanding guy, you've done well-congratulations! Oh yeah, love the disc, nice Sandy Denny choice, your live rendition was even better. Please say hi to Valleri, she's really cool! Cheers!
got a crush on you susan after hearing you sing solo on the radio thrift shop hosted by Laura c cantrell on WFMU 91.1 fm east orange new jersey. hope you got a good signing opertunity at south by southwest. laura was there too. please write, and Oh Yeah, tell your brothers that micky dolens of the monkeys is doing the morning show on oldies station WCBS fm NY. they still play the rain the park and other thing on the station, of course with susan, i'm more interested in the other things Huh? for the folks reading this, the rockinrepubliken address was my old one, and don't forget to listen to the laura cantrell radio thrift shop on the web site www.wfmu.org saturdays noon easter time. all my love to you susan ken.

Oh yeah, tell your brothers that WCBS fm still plays the classic hits. and I still remember hearing them on WABC music radio 77 when i was a kid. thanks.
Hey John, Happy Freakin' Birthday! You stayed at my Mom's house with Susie and others a long time ago. Remember? The log cabin? Anyway, Jerry ran in to Susie in Austin and I have been listening to her CD and it is very good. You take care, I hope all is good with you---Tim Holt
I hear the "The rain, the park and other things, Flower girl " in Dumb & Dumber. I found myself wondering, who sung it. Good site, answered all but one question. Did you ever get a invitation to David Letterman show? I am going to contact Paul Schaffer... I going to push his buttons for a Partridge family/Cowsills night... Hey you made a top ten list in 1989... I think it's worth a hearing this unique music...
i was about 8 maybe 9 when my aunt played a cowsills record, i was enfatuated with it. i looked all over for that concert album, thanks to modern technology i have found it on cd, the harmony you bring as a family group is one that i have not heard anywhere, you all have beautiful voices,
My husband and I saw the Beach Boys at Silver Springs last weekend. What a bonus surprise when I saw that John Cowsill was playing keyboards! I was such a fan of the Cowsills a few years ago and to see the Beach Boys AND a Cowsill in one place was wonderful. Keep up the greeat work.
I freely admit it! Been a Cowsill fan since your first hit. I am about the same age (1953), so forgive me, but, didn't you guys go on a TV show circa 1968-70 to announce your breakup due to one of you getting drafted or getting shipped to RVN? Maybe I'm senile. But if not..as a fellow vet...welcome home/back and thanks.
As a DJ I always loved the Cowsills,I play them on my internet radio station, and best of the 60s,70s,to todays hits.www.live365.com/stations/gdpent1 SUN-E RADIO.COM
I'VE ALWAYS LIKE THE MUSIC FROM THE COWSILLS. THEY ARE FROM MY GENERATION.
I am glad to see this web sight! I am a fan from the 60's and still have all my old records, posters, photos and teen magazines with the Cowsills from way back when. My favorite was John. I have always wondered what became of the Cowsills, now I can see thanks to this web sight. I hope to read of news that they will go on tour again and come to Michigan especially! I remain your forever fan.
Can you please send me a press kit with either a cd or dvd so that I can possibly book you at some nearby casinos. Laura Williams 32008 Delaware Road Coarsegold, Ca. 93614 (559)641-2611 (559)676-9687 Cell

My band was the warm up act for the Cowsills. You guys & gals were something else.WE were booked in the same club a few times and we had a goodtime after the shows with you.Good to hear your back!
Your appearance in Dallas (I was 13) in the late 60's was my first concert. Had to go with my mom, though. I was so jealous of Susie Cowsill. I wanted to be just like her...only problem was, I couldn't sing! Still love your music...
HAVE A GREAT B-DAY, JOHN
Happy Birthday John! My Birthday is also in March Hope to see you perform in the near future. Thank you for all the years of great music. Your the best!
Gosh! That song "The Rain, The Park, and Other Things" brings back wonderful memories as an 8-year-old back home in New Zealand during the 60's. . . I cherish this song because it allows me to relive those days. . .wonderful song. . . thank you Cowsills
Good website. I'm interested in what's up with the Cowsills currently.
Started getting into the Cowsills about ten years ago, when I learned they were the inspiration for 'The Partridge Family'. My favorite songs are 'The Rain, The Park & Other Things' and 'We Can Fly'. Was checking out other songs on iTunes and downloaded 'Love American Style', a song I always loved but never knew they performed. Was sad to learn that their mom passed. The music lives on - takes me back to my early childhood.
I always loved the group I n 1969 i went with a friend to macy's to see them for a personal apperience. they were great!
Yesterday during yet another Michigan blizzrard the radio played "The Rain, The Park and Other Things" and I've always loved that song, but somehow it really sparked great memories of summers as a kid when your music and all the other great pop culture of the sixties and early seventies kept me happy and carefree. I've visited your website from time to time to keep up on news about your family, but this is the first time I've decided to sign the guestbook. My life is not as carefree as it was when your music was an intregal part of it, (whose is, really?) but when I hear your music from back in the day, it reminds me of what a great time it was, even for just a season in my life. I wish your family continued health and happiness...Sincerely, Cheryl from Michigan.
Hey, The years have gone by so quickly, thanks so much for your wonderful music, harmonies that helped us get to where we are today, you folks will always remain in my heart....
I LOVE YOUR MUSIC!!!!!! XXXXXOOOOO RHONDA
I was 11 in 1967 when I listened to The Rain, The Park and Other Things on WLS A.M. This Song was very different to me from all the other songs playing during that period. It had a dreamlike sound and perfect harmonies. You could close your eyes and drift off into that song so very easily. I still have a copy of it in my very large 60's collection. I have very precious memories of those innocent times, and The Cowsills are very much a part of those memories...Thanks so much for giving us such beautiful music.
I'm so excited to have found this site! I was searching for office products and found Global Cowsills Site instead! It brings back beautiful memories. Everytime I hear your old songs I'm an 17 year old in Oregon, luv'n life! Thanks for the memories.
Love you guys since I was in the 7th grade. I remember seeing the first "Milk" billboard in Dallas and it was the neatest surprise to see towering over Dallas!!
I was excited to find web sites for the Cowsill!! I have sooooo many memories of their music when I was young(just turned 50) I still have my Fan Club Card!!!!
I agree with Jack B. The Rain, the Park & Other Things holds alot of memories for me. Great song
The Rain, the Park and Other Things- SWEETEST SONG EVER RECORDED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BRINGS TEARS TO YOUR EYES! I LOVE THIS SONG TO DEATH! IT IS HEAVENLY AND SO PRECIOUS TO ME! THANK YOU COWSILLS FOR MAKING IT REAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
I can remember hearing your music as a kid in Watts. I really liked how i used to get lost in your music (the flower girl)now I am able to explore your music on another level, as a musician and I totally love it!!I hope to ever see you guys live. Take Care
I kept a copy of "Song Hits" magazine from Dec.'67 that profiles the Cowsills. The article outlines how they "almost lost everything!!!" I was more interested in the Jimi Hendrix peice but thought it was note worthy just the same.
Hope the Cowsills will be reading this. I had one of your first albums. I sing a little and I have always thought you guys were awesome!!! I work at Florida Atlantic University and we have a lot of entertainers that perform here. The number to the person who would book it is 561-297-2062. His name is Chris Henry. Maybe your agent (I assume you have one) can arrange you to be here. I would love it!!!! A Forever fan, Sheila Yungk, Operator at FAU
Guys, I love your music. Your voices are great.
Hi guys, yes I'm still around managing artists. Glad to see that everyone is still recording, playing & pushing in this business. I'm happy to have known you and worked with you & was part of your life. From the first day in Springfield, MA and then the day I walked into the session of "Rain, Park & Other Things" with Lenny Stogel and beyond it's been a super ride for me. Love you all forever. Ken Capurso

Talk about bringing back memories.....I remember seeing the Cowsills at Atlantic City's Steel Pier way back in the 60's!! Great to see the website, and the band, plays on!
I hope this finds all well and in fair health. Mybrother Glenn sent me the link for the web site, it is nice to find information on the Cowsill family. I just wanted to say hello and tell all of you I wish yall well. I remember the time we came to the Texas state fair to see yall perform and I stayed the night with Berry and John, it is on of my favorite memories from growing up here in the south, bet ya figured that out since I keep saying "yall" LOL. I don't even know if you will remember me but I remember yall and I still turn the radio up when one of yalls songs plays.
Loved your music as a kid. Wondered what ever happened to the group. Sorry to hear about your mom. She really was the glue wasnt she. Take care in all you do.
I doubt that any of you remember me. My Father ("Bill" Jacques) and Bud were in the Navy together. We visited with ya'll in Dallas when you appeared at the Texas State Fair when I was a teenager. I also got to see all of you again in the summer of 1969 when you were playing a gig in Kansas City. A reluctant radio personality took a note backstage and gave it to Barbara who came out and said: Where's MY boy?"; to my delight and the amazement of my date who was doubting that I actually knew ya'll. My Father and your's were cut from the same cloth as far as disipline was concerned and I believe we share some of the same resentments. I am fortunate in that my Father finally became a more compassionate man and now at the age of 80 enjoys his 5 great-grandchildren (two more on the way)as often as possible. My eldest daughter, of two, is expecting her second child this summer. Having two grandchildren now (with one coming this summer) has made me more reflective and has prompted me to seek out your family (love that GOOGLE search) to inquire as to the health and well-being of all of you. If I don't hear back from any of you, that's OK. Just know that there IS someone who still thinks of your whole family fondly and cherishes the memory of your Mother, Barbara. Best wishes and hope for God's Blessings in all of your lives.
Oh my goodness!when I saw your website it just brought back such memories!I had all the alblums and was such a fan, even a first crush!Often wondered what happenend to the group, good to see your still around!
AAHH. THE COWSILLS. AS A YOUNG LAD I ALWAYS WANTED TO GET TO SEE THE COWSILLS. I NEVER GOT THE CHANCE TO. ONCE IN AROUND 1968, THEY WERE BOOKED TO DO A GIG IN ATLANTIC CITY NEW JERSEY. I WANTED MY FATHER TO TAKE ME, BUT HE WOULDN'T HAVE ANY PART OF IT. I GREW UP IN A FAMILY OF 8. THE COWSILLS HAD 7. I'VE HEARD THAT BUD COWSILL WAS PRETTY ROUGH ON THE BOY'S. I CAN RELATE TO THAT. MY DAD WAS A REAL BASTARD. TIME DOES HAVE A WAY OF HEALING THOUGH. MAYBE ALL OF US KIDS THAT HAD A ROUGH HOME LIFE IN THE 1960'S, REALLY COULD CONNECT WITH THE COWSILLS BACK THEN AND WE JUST DIDN'T KNOW WHY.

I always liked your music and one favorite is Indian Lake. Tell me is that the Indian Lake in Rhode Island that is over the Jamestown Bridge going away from Newport? I remember first seeing you guys on The Ed Sulivan Show. Don't ever forget the talent and the legacy that your parents gave and granted to you. I would love to take my 10 year old daughter to see you sometime. The Cowsills are a "scene you should make with your little ones". God Bless You all and hope to see you back in Newport soon from whence you came.
