In Robby's own words, from 1999 ...
I met Barry about 20 years ago when I was playing with The Pranks (which included
Randell Kirsch, Jeff Foskett & Bo Fox). At one time, Barry lived in the same house as
Jeff Foskett, so that was the first time I encountered a Cowsill..... (I know .... I
should've run then!) I soon met John, and he started playing with a later incarnation of
The Pranks around 1982. Four years later in December 1986, I joined John (and Randell) and
played with Jan & Dean on their trip to China. We were there for almost a month and it
was during this time that John and I truly bonded as a rhythm section and as friends. At
this time, he was "threatening" to get The Cowsys back together and that he
wanted me to play bass. I said, "Yeah, sure .... " and didn't think anything of
it until I got a call from Bob in 1990 asking me to rehearse. I can't remember if I said
yes or no...
Alright, I know it's not as interesting as The Quarrymen, but hey .... what is?
